    General
  • You can contact admins by emailing them at admin@horsephenomena.com.
Messages sent to account number 1 will more than likely be ignored.
  • HP runs on Central Time, or GMT-6 (this is one hour behind US Eastern Time, one hour ahead of US Mountain Time, and two hours ahead of US Pacific Time)
  • Impersonating any of the Horse Phenomena staff and/or it's moderators will result in immediate banning of all accounts.

General SIM Game Etiquette and Tips
  • Do not post in “chat speak” such as “hi ppl lyk wats up w/ u!?” It's incredibly annoying and most people will not take you seriously if you talk like that.
  • AlTeRnAtInG caps are also very annoying and hard to read.
  • Try to spell properly. Firefox, Google Chrome, and Safari are all free web browsers that come with spell checkers if you have trouble with your spelling.
  • When in chat, please try to avoid bright colors that are hard to read on the white background.
  • Do not message players begging for anything, do not message people asking for graphics, training, animals, or other services unless it is in response to an advertisement or you at least check the player's page to see if they are offering said service at that given time.
  • Random stable buddy requests are not usually welcome.
  • Try to follow club and association registration requirements posted by the presidents. If it's the Arabian Horse Club, it's generally considered rude to submit your Shire if the club president is only allowing Arabian Horse breeds.
  • When doing business with people, please realize that they may not get your message right away. You can see if they have read your message by viewing your outbox. Remember to be patient and give people time to get things completed. Do not constantly pester for it to be completed now.
  • When messaging or emailing the administration, please be aware that you are probably not the only one and be patient.
  • Try to be polite and respectful at all times. If an argument is starting in chat, instead of jumping in and fueling the fire, simply go get a moderator. If someone is being rude to you in a message, instead of retaliating, just report the message and let the moderators deal with it. Also, try not to gossip in the chat rooms or say things that could be taken as an off-color comment.
  • Don't sass-back to the moderators or the admin if disciplinary action is taken. If you feel you have a legitimate contest to action a mod has taken against you, you may message/email the admin with all the details. Throwing a fit about it in chat or on your page will not help your case.
  • This game and most layouts look best using firefox or google chrome. If you are using another browser, some things may not look quite right.
  • All images must be made from stock and properly credited. You can find a tutorial for searching flikr for stock photos here and a tutorial for searching deviantART for stock photos here. Remember to view the artist comments for their usage rules! Some stock providers do not want their images used offsite, and some require notification. Other stock sites are morguefile.com and scx.hu. Crediting rules and copyright laws are taken VERY seriously on HP.
  • You can find free graphics and layouts at both hp.toxicscribble.com and hp-help.webs.com. Most Horseland graphic sites do not follow copyright laws or crediting rules and as such cannot be used here.
Moderators

Moderators are here to help make the site a friendly place for people of all ages, they have the power to temporarily and/or permanently kick any player off of the game who has broken a rule or the Terms of Service. Moderators are to be treated with respect, as are all Horse Phenomena staff, as well as the players. This section is designed to help the players of the Horse Phenomena game to navigate around as well as to help players who have gotten stuck and need assistance. If your question is not answered here, please send an email to admin@horsephenomena.com so we can help you.

Accounts

If an account has not been logged into for over a year, it becomes the property of Horse Phenomena. At that point, it will either be sold or deleted. If you have any questions regarding your account, please message a moderator, or email the Horse Phenomena staff.

Account Types

There are two types of accounts. Basics and upgrades.

Basic accounts have all of the basic features of the game. They can Buy, train, and sell horses and dogs, create one public horse show and one public dog show a week, and draw $4000 out of the bank once a week. Basic players can both buy and sell graphics out of the graphic auctions and can register their animals with clubs, join associations, and register their animals with associations. They can also purchase tickets from upgraded players and be accepted into private shows. Basic players can use Basic Advertising, and Basic Chat 1 and 2, and can view the upgrade rooms though not post.

Upgraded accounts have all of the basic features, as well as the following. Upgraded players can create one public, one private horse show as well as a public and private dog show each week, and collect 40,000 from the bank a week. They may run for presidency of clubs, vote for club presidencies, and create an association to run. Upgraded players may buy and sell training tickets as well. Upgraded players have full access to all basic and all upgrade chat rooms.

Decorating Home Pages
All players are allowed to decorate their home pages with whatever they would like to (as long as it follows the rules, see the Layouts/Graphics section of the Rules). You can talk about you, your horses and dogs, what services you offer on HP, your stable and kennel, or whatever you want. You may also post images on your page (ALL images must either be personal photos, or images that are allowed to be used on 'profile pages'. Any other pictures must be stock photos, allowed to be used on SIM games, and credited. See Stock and Credits if you are unsure what this means).

You may find free graphics, layouts, and coding help for use on HP at both hp.toxicscribble.com and hp-help.webs.com. Most other SIM game graphics site do not follow the HP rules, and are therefore not allowed for use on HP.

If you have issues, you can reset your page using the link at the top of your page. If for some reason you cannot find this link, you can locate a moderator to have your page reset. Please make sure all layouts are properly credited and you have permission to use them. If you have a question about the content of your layout, please ask a moderator or admin before posting it on your page.

General

Home

This refers to your main home page. On this page you can put layouts and images and some information. As with any internet site putting personal information is NOT a good idea. Leaving personal information on any web site is NOT safe. If there is anything on your home page that is in violation of any of HP’s rules you can either be issued a warning to remove it, or if it is severe your page can be reset by a moderator.

Money

Basic players receive 40,000 from the bank per week. Upgraded players receive 400,000 from the bank per week. You can go to the Bank every Sunday to get your allowance. You will also notice that there is a very easy way to transfer money to other players. This makes money horses useless. There is no need for them on this game.

Horses

Store horses start at age 3. All Store horses age on Sunday no matter what day you purchase them on. Lined animals (that have parents that do not say store) age each week on the day that they were born. (a horse born on a Tuesday will age on a Tuesday). Horses can be ticket trained at any age, but can only be entered in shows once they turn 3 years of age. Horses retire at the age of 21.

Breeding Horses
Stallions may be bred once every 5 days.
Mares may be bred once every 2 weeks.
Even after you have accepted a mare to breed with your stallion she will show up on the breeding list again when the stallion is able to be bred. You have to remove the mare from the waiting list if you do not want to breed her again. Over bred - most people look at over bred as a mare or stallion with more then 3-4 foals. The more foals the Stallion or Mare has the less desirable the foals are.

Dogs

Store dogs start at age 2. All store dogs age on Sunday no matter what day you purchased them on. Lined animals (that have parent that do not say store) age each week on the day that they were born. (a dog born on a Tuesday will age every Tuesday). Dogs can be ticket trained at any age, but can only be entered in shows once they are 2 years of age. Dogs retire at 16.

Breeding Dogs
Male dogs may be bred once every 5 days.
Female dogs may be bred once every 2 weeks.
Even after you have accepted the female to breed with your male she will show up on the breeding list again when the male is able to be bred. You have to remove the female from the waiting list if you do not want to breed her again. Over bred - most people look at over bred as a female or male with more then 3-4 pups. The more pups the female or male has the less desirable the pups are.

There are multiple talk channels on hp. Basic players can only post in the Basic channels. Upgraded player can post in any channel basic or upgrades. Advertising in talk channels is NOT allowed. Advertising is ONLY allowed in the advertising channels. Any player caught advertising in a true talk channel can be warned, booted or suspended from chat by a moderator.
