So as you guys know Max passed away back in March. Then I got Bella and she just did not work out at all. She hated me with a burning, firey passion and I couldn't be within sight or earshot without her screaming at the very top of her lungs until I went away. She loved Danny, but he's really not a bird person and wasn't interested in that kind of relationship with her. I asked her breeder if he wanted her back but she hated his mother as much as she hated me so he said no and gave me his blessing to find her a new home.

I got in touch with another breeder that was advertising his search for a hand raised female under a year old. We chatted for a while and we started talking about a swap. He had a couple of babies that were too young to determine genders (I wanted a boy and he wanted to keep females) but he said if any are boys, I can have one in exchange for Bella. He came and picked her up last Monday, and yesterday he text me and said one of the chicks is a boy! So I drove over today and picked him up.

ANYWHO here he is:

He's not quite as big as Max was, but Max was 5-6 weeks when I got him and this baby is only around 4 weeks. Plus Max was just a massive baby because his parents were huge. This baby's parents were average to large.

He doesn't have a name yet. I had the hardest time naming Max so this isn't going to be easy >.>

I adore him already. He's such a little character. He doesn't like sitting still much, he's super clumsy but that doesn't stop him trying to waddle around lol. He loves to pick at things. I brought him to the couch for a cuddle last night and he was picking at the sequin things on my top. This morning while we were waiting for his formula to cool down a little he was nibbling at my fingers and "foraging" on the newspaper (even though there was nothing there) so I think he's going to be easy to wean (please, lord, give me a baby that's easy to wean for once in my life).

He took to the spoon well last night but it was a little slow going, so I tried the syringe this morning and it was so much faster and cleaner. And it keeps the formula more stable in temperature so I think i'll be using syringes with him from now on.

Also, I will try to get a video of this today at some stage, but when he wants attention he squeaks at me and he legit sounds like a squeaky toy LOLOL

He's going to be a chewer. I put him on the table while I messed around with his brooder and he started nibbling on the washing basket and then his feet lol.

His crop was more full than i'd like last night when the time came for his last feed, so I gave him some warm water and apple cider vinegar and skipped his last meal and he still gained 13g in the 24hr period. Pretty happy with that lol.

He's almost completely empty with 1/2 hour to go before his lunch YAY.
I know it's going to change in a few weeks but right now he's an absolute dream to feed. Eclectus chicks are notoriously slow eaters and Max was horrible to feed, sometimes it'd take me up to an hour to get a syringe of formula down. But it only takes me around 15 minutes for this guy to eat his whole portion which is amazing. I'm cherishing this while it lasts LOL

I'm deciding between Jett and Sam. (yes I considered that we have a HP sam, I decided it wouldn't be weird :P)

He's doing really well. Gaining weight nicely, growing well. His wings are starting to get more green. Can't wait until he feathers out :D

I decided on Sam lol. This morning when I got up to feed him I was half asleep, and I put him on the table while I made his formula. He was in an energetic mood and was trying to run (which is really just falling forward and trying not to faceplant) and I glanced over and saw him inching toward the edge, I instinctively yelled "SAM NO" and ran over lmao so I decided Sam must be the one :P

How I would've liked to have been the mouse in the corner watching this scenario! haha!!
