so as many do My lines are based on show episodes, so question is.. what do you do when you run out of names(episodes/characters etc)?

My Hemlock and Spartacus lines are going to be short.. and wanted to change after a generation or 2... should I just change it or kind of get creative? Ideas on what people do would be awesome sauce :)

I've done a mixture haha. I started out with a theme, ran out, then just mixed the parent names for a while and then eventually switched to a new theme haha

One of my themes is The X-Files. I started with...uh...a lot, then worked my way down to what I have now. Because there are so many episodes, I had no bother naming my dogs. There's even some titles I didn't use because in my eyes, they're too long or something. I'm trying to end up with one dog called The Agent. From there, I'm going to start on the old series Millenium.

Another of my themes is Star Wars planets. There's a ton, so I won't run out any time soon! Then there's Dr. Who, 2 Broke Girls, and a few other shows. I noticed that when some people do themes, they use up names very quickly on a lot of animals, rather than spread them out.

Mine are sort of biblical names which include names used in the bible and christian song titles...i did merge some other lines into them, so some arent the same theme...but i also dont train alot of animals soo i never run outta names!

When I ran out of episodes to name horses after I named them after songs that were in the episodes. I have also been known to take an artistic spin on the tv show names.... SO like Vampire Diaries I might name a Horse a spoof name like.... Katherines Back AGAIN. That kind of thing.

So I love Zad's idea, tbh. BUT right now with my Timbers I have it under one over arching theme and then each gen gets a new name theme.

So my theme is terryfying:

Gen one was unethical, gen two was dinosaurs, gen three was phobias, gen four was demons, gen five was spiders, and gen six is monsters.

But you can do like Zad said, song titles, or quotes as well. :)

I never actually stick with a theme long enough to have this problem. *COUGH*
