It's not very often that I post something on here in the forums, especially when it comes to myself, but today I wanted to share with the lovely HP community one of my favorite hobbies and fascinations: classic cars!  Hopefully if you're not into classic cars, this post will gain your interest and if you are into classic cars, then we should have a lot to discuss here!

Like many on HP, I too am a photographer, but instead of being a professional or focusing on canines/equines, mine is rather a hobby that focuses on the antique beauty of vehicles and re-telling the stories of a simpler time; for almost two years now, I have attended one of Florida's most well-known shows in my area: "The Turkey Rod Run" and "Spring Rod Run" that are hosted twice a year in March and November. I have met many wonderful car restorers from across the United States (and some even across the pond!) who came to show off their cars and tell their stories. Having met these people also allowed me to learn so much about cars that I ever knew before and also learning about the inner workings of classic cars.

Below are a couple of my favourite photos I took from my visit to this year's Spring Rod Run and there are plenty more than just these!

Believe it or not, classic cars were not a full interest in my life until I hit my teens, but in general, cars have always fascinated me. From old work truck like a Cheyenne 1500 to a sleek Jaguar or a roaring Ferrari and NASCAR stock car. Hot Wheels were a big thing for me and the main source of my inspiration of loving cars and wanting to study them. When I got older, I started going to scrap yards and garages looking at people restoring rusted chassis and giving the car a breath of new life again, which really drove my curiosity. Last year was the first time I ever attended a classic car show and I became hooked on it. I could see why these cars were a popular trade and labour of love for these owners.

I have now attended a total of 5 classic car shows and in November, this will be my 6th time and I will happily share any photography from it if you wish! :)

So to end my thread and start a discussion going, what is your favorite classic car model and why?

Gorge pics! Do you have a photography page on F.B.?

I quite like the look of the old muscle cars. And further back, old Duesenberg, '60s Mini, classic Ford Trucks, Volkswagen minivans (so cute). Can't think of any more really old ones. Oh, and you gotta love the Model-T Ford. lol

Thank-you, Kuwait! I do have a a F.B. page but it's currently under construction, but seeing as people seem quite interested in my photography, as soon as I finish setting it up, I'll post a link here for you all to follow :)

Also nice choice of cars! I agree, the Model-T's and Volkswagons are great!
