I've been MIA again lately, but I've had such a rough few months and I haven't really spoken out about it. To anyone. So to my HP family, I'm sorry to say I've chosen you as my audience.

On July 23rd we had Ollie put to sleep. He was going into organ failure and his passing was very traumatic for my sister. She blames herself almost every day, but I've spent my energy comforting her and ensuring her that she made the best and kindest decision for Ollie.

More recently on September 6th, I lost Marley. I am still in shock, absolutely heartbroken and I don't quite know what to do with myself. I feel guilty for feeling normal amidst my intense moments of grief. 

Our beautiful boys made it to the wonderful old age of 15, but that was never going to be enough.

Marley was my soulmate, best friend, my heart dog

The cherry on top of the cake is my dad getting tests for prostate cancer.

When life deals you a shit hand, you roll with it though, right? 

I'm so sorry to hear about all of this, Adeina! My thoughts are with you. Losing animals is never easy no matter how many come and go. I hope everything comes out well regarding the tests for your dad, too. Life is not being too kind to you right now. D:

There is no "right" way to grieve...your body knows what you need, and you might feel like it's wrong to feel normal, but it's probably your body's defense mechanism kicking in. You have nothing to feel bad about!

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Pets fill our hearts to the brim, then leave us feeling empty when they pass on over the rainbow bridge. May you feel comfort and peace knowing you made the selfless decision to put their comfort above your own. You gave them the best life, and then helped them to pass onto the next feeling nothing but love for their heart people. I am always here if you need anything, or just a listening ear!
