Suggestion/Feedback Summary, January 2024

Every month, by request, I will be making a post summarizing that month's anonymous suggestions/feedback, and my response to them. Each submission will have also been shared with the other admins for their feedback as well (especially if the submission specifically pertains to their job), and their views are also expressed here in my summary, as indicated. Feedback from other admins is in their words...I just copy and paste it into the post. 

All suggestions/feedback was anonymous, into the Google Form pinned to the top of this Suggestions section of the forum. The only two questions on the form ask what the suggestion/feedback is, and what today's date is, in order to help sort out when something was submitted. No player information is exchanged.

Submission #1: plz make it so we can see the points that get added to animals from events. This should be public knowledge. It'd be fun to see how many the super high pointed animals get from stuff, and itd make keeping track of my own and making sure that the right animals get points added onto from events (msgs are accidentally deleted in the midst of shows messages and club acceptences and everything). I get keeping warn logs and stuff hidden, but this should be public knowledge. plz?

At this point, this won't be a feature we'll be adding. I will tell you, all staff are able to see from the "back end" of HP pages what animals have received what points from what event (and which staffer awarded them!). This is in part for accountability and if we suspect anything sketchy with an animal's points, we can track where they came from. I also have ways of seeing on the database. As staff, we all also have to post on our Mod Forum where we are awarding items/points to animals, so again, it can be tracked, not added twice on accident, etc. On the player side of things, the majority of the events outside of grab bags players post on the forum with their event efforts where their animal(s) are meant to get their prizes.

Submission #2: Is there any way, in a message thread with another player, the reply box could be at the top of the message thread? It can be a little inconvient when you're having a long thread with someone, that the newer message is at the very top of the entire conversation and you have to scroll all the way down to reply, hopefully remembering every point you need to respond to (if the message is long.) Also, I miss messages sometimes if a player replies twice...one message will come in, and then a second one, but only the second message is highlighted in purple so therefore the first message can get lost in the cracks. Not sure if this is just me getting old and cranky but I figured it be something worth noting!

Consider it noted ;P Seriously, though, I'll add it to my list. Not sure if it's possible or if I'd break messages. Guess we'll see when I get there on the list lol.

Submission #3: Can you pretty please make it so that players can delete their own posts in chat? We can delete our own forum posts, and it would be so nice for when you accidentally post from the wrong account, or double post on accident, or on the wrong chat board. Please??

Nope, sorry! Honestly, I'm not even a huge fan of the fact that players can delete forum posts. Means players could post something sketchy, fire up the masses, then delete it. Or one word: Trolls.

Submission #4: Can there be a character limit on show names? Sometimes people make the names really long and it stretches the show page all wonky

This one's an easy one so I just did it now. It was 100 for some reason. I've just cut it to 50 because I honestly don't know how long it should be lol. Willing to revisit if 50 is too few.
