So as some of you know I got a horse back in december who was severely under weight, because they didn't wean her colt till he was at least 8-9months old and it just took a lot out of her. so, i've spent the last 6 1/2 months getting her up to a good weight and she was doing so good. well, recently, in the last month or so, she's lost weight all over again. at least half of what we just got on her. We haven't really been riding her, so I don't think that is it. she's bee wormed. I've had her on senior feed(cause vet said it would help gain her weight) and half a scoop of weight supliment with her feed. she gets hay, has all the grass she could dream of. I just don't know where to go from here D=

Huh, that's really weird! You've got the worming side covered, how about her teeth? Do any of the horses chase her off from food (... but she has grass, so that shouldn't even be the main bulk of the reason you'd think...)? Maybe ulcers (but then she probably wouldn't have an appetite)?

What's her worming schedule like? I've known a couple of horses that either were wormed TOO frequently and ended up with resistant parasites and it was causing issues, and one that was wormed irregularly/not enough and he wasn't getting almost any of the nutrients.

I hope you find out what's wrong! It's no fun to have a mysterious pony syndrome.

I'd say check the teeth first. Watch her eat. Does she chew, stop, spit some out? Or Eat for a minute or so at a time and then stop? She may be in pain because of her teeth and not eating as much.

Vet checked teeth/for sores in mouth when he was out a month ago. horses do chase her off, but we've been feeding her by herself for that reason. im probably going to have the vet come back out this weekend, just to be sure. I worm every 3 months. which she's due at the end of this month.

How old is the horse? Ballpark, if not known exactly?
is her stomach skinny also, or is it more potbellied whereas the rest of her is losing weight? Any weird pockets of fat in an otherwise skinny horse?
