March Breed Spotlight

Each month we will pick a new rare-on-HP breed and give away a pointed pair of them in order to boost the number of breeders of that animal! We will rotate between horse breeds and dog breeds every other month! The giveaway will be drawn, and the new breed posted on (or as close as possible to) the 15th of each month!
This month's breed is: Altai Horses!
About Altai HorsesAltai Horses are from the Altai mountains in Central Asia. They are a hearty stock horse, meant to be able to weather the harsh conditions on the mountain. They are very often crossed with other heavy breeds to create a larger, but still strong horse breed because Altai's are only about 13 hh tall! Although they can be solid colors, it's also possible for them to have the gene for leopard complex, similar to Appaloosa's which results in leopard spots! Just an FYI: I started these because I was watching Marco Polo on Netflix (shame they cancelled it) and basically they're the horses the Mongolian khans would ride while conquering the world. Hopefully that might interest a few more people :D |

Coool! I love the hardy nature of Altais and it's on my bucket list to ride across the Mongolian steppes!
