Hey HP!

Just wanted to give you a quick head's up that we've adjusted the prices in the regular store, and check up fees for the vet and farrier/groomer.

It's not a big change, so you shouldn't notice much of a difference, but we are doing it to try to curb inflation a bit! As inflation on HP increases, the prices of everything rise, and it gets harder and harder for new and returning players to get into the game which we don't want!

In addition, we've raised the basic bank allowance from $150k to $200k per week.

And we have removed HPD earnings from shows on a trial basis to see how it affects the economy. We will adjust, though, if removing it causes a problem. Remember, though, you can get passive income on your accounts by making your public shows and collecting your bank amounts every week :).

Hope everyone is having a good Thursday!

-Sam

I'm no economist so this might be dumb, but what factors do the staff use to assess inflation? I'm seeing upgrades go for over $200m (higher than it was last year on average) and horse/dog tickets at 200k-150k (lower than it was last year on average). Anyway, seems like a small move, hope it makes a positive difference!

I guess I kinda forgot that you got earnings from shows. But we won't go into the deep and dark dumbs of Pants today...for the list is ever increasing. =|

We have an economy tracker which tells us the total amount in HP's economy, minus my account and the Humane Association :). We also pay attention to the average prices for upgrades, tickets, and shows.

Upping the prices in the store isn't a huge change, but they're things that players buy all the time, so over time it really adds up. Taking out show earnings will be a huge help as well, assuming that it doesn't become detrimental, but before it was $1 HPD per point earned. So you can see how that would add up! Between mid-February and now almost 5 billion HPD was added into HP's economy, despite efforts to rein it in, so we just have to start trying some things to be more proactive about it :).

I know raising prices kinda takes the hp money out, but doesnt it make it harder for newer players to buy from the stores?

I know you raised the basic bank 50k, but thats not near enough to buy anything from the stores!

But i imagine they need to establish themselves like we all did...

Basic players have a basic store, which has less prices. So they arent getting only 200k a week, and paying what an upgrade would in the store.
We pay now $3750 for an animal, where they pay $1500, for example.

passive show income i would think would help draw some money out

especially players who have a lot of animals in training

*hides hoard under rug*

i never really noticed a big change in income from shows even when I did have *coughs*250*coughs* horses so stopping that wouldn't be so bad. And even if prices increased in the store we still need them so it's not like "oh I will stop"

and players from from what I can see have lots of area to earn HPD from making shows, selling shows, tickets, training, graphics, coding and upgrades.

i think the small increase will help.

I think Peike is right, there's still many ways to earn income...even just entering all the club contests every month.

Also, I think coding is always in demand.

I'm personally sad about the shows not earning money anymore but that's simply because I was monitoring how much each horse made in points each show and it was easier than doing the math based off of what the horse had before the shows ran that day and what they had after. Oh well. I guess as long as the horses meet their goals every week I can live without knowing exactly how many points they get from each show. In a few months, I probably won't even notice I miss it.
