WHY YOU SHOULD BREED VIZSLAS

What is a vizsla you ask? The vizsla is an extremely versatile all around sporting dog that can preform the function of pointer, retriver, and tracker. Not only do they make the perfect hunting companion but they also make the perfect family companion, a feature that has not gone unoticed by the average American family in recent years as they have risen to the 41st most popular breed in the US from a state of near extinction at one point.

The vizsla is often fondly reffered to as a velcro dog based on their tendency to stick to your side like glue. They are energetic, trainable, extremely affectionate, sensitive, eager to please, and gentle; getting along with children, other dogs and pets they are raised with. They are also low maintence, low shed, with a short coat that requires little more than an occasional brush in terms of grooming. They are also a generally healthy breed with few genetic health risks outside of cancer and eplilepsy.

About their only downside is their need for exercise which can turn destructive if not given the opportunity to run/work.

These are gorgeous, lean, muscular, athletic dogs that come in a variety of red rust shades and are perfect choices for most dog sports including agility, flyball, tracking, and field trials.
