Wasn't sure where to put this, but as many of you know, I have a lot of animals and I try not to repeat names throughout my breeds, but it happens. haha. I have come to a stand still on thinking of theme names per breed or divider, ect.

I've done things like:

Harry Potter

Popular songs

historical thoroughbred names

NRHA

famous couples

and a few others. Does anyone have any ideas? I am up for pretty much anything. haha.

How about little-known movies or old movies? Elvis songs? I'm currently doing a Rockabilly line, starting with Jerry Lee Lewis songs. You could so something similar like blues, maybe? How about foreign language words for things? I did a line of Japanese fruit and veg! 

Fairy/folk tales, names of cities in your state, flower names (in other languages, especially!), pirate names, star/constellation/galaxy names

I like to pick themes based on things I really like, or I know a lot about.  Back on HL my names were based on famous authors and characters (Shakespeare, Huck Finn, that type of thing.) I've also used flower names, my paints are all cities, my drum horses are famous American battles.  I've tried to do names of Angels but those got difficult. 

You could do world wonders, or famous mountains, some type of mythology, famous historical figures, or famous names of the Wild West.  Just listing a few off the top of my head =D

You could do a loactions theme! Like pick different cities/countries around the world. That would also be super fun with the images because you could make them all themed!

I tend towards just names from that region or breed. Like Icelandics are traditionally given just... a name. And then "from [studname]" Like Agnar frá Hrafnfjall is
"Agnar from Raven Mountain" which is Tana's line. So basically researching how some of the breeds are traditionally registered and going from there.

I have my pasos with names of tarantula species from South America. So you could do something like that with one of your favorite animals.

I have a lot of lines hailing from video games and I use the quest line names as names.  If you aren't a gamer, I just mash the names together.  I also do lines from places like Sam suggested.  Like my Alaska Lined Andalusians are named after towns in Alaska.  You could also do general areas like the Pacific Northwest (PNW) where I just name the animals all willy nilly from cool named towns from the PNW.

You might also try finding TV shows you love or really follow and name your lines after the episodes that air in chronological order

Locations are fun, can do a state or country per generation.

PBR Bulls, equ recommended to me but would be more suited for a western breed ;)

TV shows and songs are great too. I am doing a line of nail polish colors! haha!

I did a bulk graphic order for someone who used paint colors as their names. She did specifically the color red, but yeah that gives you tons of options! 

For my Pomskies I am naming them fictional colors. 

I've had trouble thinking up themes also. Usually I try to research the history of a breed, pick something from that history (country of origin, traditional uses, nicknames...etc.) and then pick a theme from that culture or topic. For example, I breed Miniature Poodles (thanks HP breed raffle!) so since Miniature Poodles are also known as "French" Poodles, I decided to name them after French Cabaret songs.
