I am more of a fair weather fan when it comes to soccer/football. I watch club games when I can, but I don't go out of my way.
I have done a fair amount of research - I know the 'big' players, and some of the history.
Messi is my Guy. It's been an interesting WC so far.
Argentina may have been a tad underwhelming yesterday ... but Germany lost today, so there is that. |

Yes I've been watching some! Im not really interested in football as a rule, but we have a sweepstakes going in work (I have Russia) and it's caught my interest, plus my partner likes football so we're watching games where we can. Spain v Portugal on Friday was a nice lively game, but we were disappointed with Brazil's performance against Switzerland last night. |

Agreed. The Brazil match was a little under whelming as well. But as with Messi, Neymar has to carry the entire team upon his shoulders. Both are very lackluster all around teams with two superstars. Germany had no such excuse, they are for all intents and purposes the best entire team in the World Cup. .. and they still couldn’t pull it off. Columbia loosing today was also surprising. Other than Portugal, the “big gums” this World Cup are taking a beating.
It is is only the first round though- there is still a lot of time for some magic. |

I guess I get to eat my words big time w/Brazil. The whole finally decided to wake up and show up. With Messi, I mean Argentina gone, Brazil is my favorite. Though at least they did make a game of their elimination. It wasn’t a total sweep like many were expecting.
Columbia cra. Brazil would be fun if James can play in the finals - if not, I’d love to see a ‘suprise’ Team such as Croatia or even Russia take on the big dogs. |
