So, I have to admit .. for the most part I do enjoy having dogs & making dog graphics - but I am at a bit of a loss.

Dogs are tricky, because unlike most horses (other than a very few special horse breeds,) dog breeds have very specific standards- and trying to substitute a generic just doesn't work.

I have noticed that dog refrence  stock is very thinn one sites such as Deviantart & flickr for breeds other than the very popular breeds such as labs/mutts etc (nothing against them, I am just not super fond of them.

Are there any other decent free stock sites other than deviantart / flickr ?

I just don't have the money/intuition to pay 25 dollars right now for shutterstock/iphoto

Sorry if this doesn't make sense. It's late and Iam tired, but It is getting frustrating ... and I'd love to know if there are other good sites.

There's pexels.com and pixabay.com and unsplash.com. Although, they won't have a vast amount of different dog breeds and the photographer may not list the breed if it is a picture of a dog. I go to these places if I'm doing a breed with little or no stock just to see if I get lucky. There's also morguefile.com but again, don't expect anything amazing, unless you find a gem.

In general, I've found that DeviantArt does have the best animal free stock photos. If you're looking specifically for dog breed stock, let me know what breed! I have tons of dog stock I have not uploaded yet and I might have some pictures of the breed you are looking for, and if not, I might be able to get some.
