I just replied to a message (twice) to the same person.  I got the alert that my reply had been sent,  but it never showed up in my outbox. 

Check further down in your outbox to when you sent the first message and it will be there! Replies don’t show up at the top (a frustrating bug, which we hope to get fixed in the next round of programming).
