Resembles Which Breed The Most?

This is my love, Mariah. She's getting pretty old, so sadly one day, she won't be here anymore. I've had her since she was only a few weeks old. The lady at the pound just gave her to us for free and said she was a mixed Chihuahua. Obviously, she isn't, lol. So she must have been pretty young for them to think she was going to be a small dog. We weren't sure she was even going to make it for awhile there, but she has outlived 2 other dogs that other family members had gotten at the time she was given to us, so she's making it pretty far. I'm guessing I know what breeds she might be mixed with but I was curious about what other people thought. I'd like to start a project on that "main breed" she resembles the most when she passes away. Thanks! :) Picture! |

She's cute :). She looks a bit like a cattle dog to me in her ears, but her nose and body are kind of lab-ish. Although, if I had to put her in a category, other than her coat, I'd say Australian Cattle Dog (heeler). |

for some reason I keep going back to german shepherd in her head and then a lab body o0 I don't know though

By any chance do you have any pics of when she was younger?Im thinking heeler or shepherd but im still debating on the other cross. |

It seems to me like her paws are elongated like maybe a hound or terrier. Shepherds would have somewhat long and labs have compact and webbed. Honestly she could very easily have chihuahua(dad) and heeler(mom). seems odd but possible. ive even seen a pitbull and chihuahua mix. Or even a corgi heeler mix. |

She reminds me of my Kelpie.. Just the face shape and stuff.. goes along with the heeler part they are mentioning. |

Really though, I looked at the picture before reading it and I immediately saw Chihuahua, Lab and a little bit if ACD. That Chihuahua sticks out to me though.ย |

That deep chest looks just like every Lab I've owned, though any retriever breed can have it.ย Her coat really doesn't strike me as a Lab x Shepherd or Lab x Herding Dog cross.ย If she had both, I'd think her coat would be heavier.ย From the picture it looks pretty sleek, and with those slender legs and lean head shape makes me think sighthound (like Basenji).ย If I had to guess, I would say either a Lab or a Shepherd crossed with some type of sighthound (Basenji, Whippet, Greyhound). |
