anyone else have hermit crabs? I'd totally be interested in how you have everything set up.

Right now I have two hermit crabs named kermie and bernie. I used to have germie, but he sadly perished in his first molt. :[ I got him this year with kermie at a very disgusting little shop down in Alabama because I felt bad. Bernie i've had for going on a 1 1/2 now, and kermie for about 3 months, and luckily successfully survived her first molt. So right now, i've got two health purple pinchers. :] they're in a 10-gal tank with about 6 inches of a eco-earth/sand substrate, which is 50/50, and I find they like very well. :]

/nerd out.

Joel has hermit crabs :), or, I guess, his family does. They live in a ten-sih gallon tank with some mossy stuff and a branch, but that's about all I know, haha. Sorry I couldn't be more specific for you!

I've always wondered about them, and then when I finally got them, and did some research, they're quite interesting, and if you pay attention they also have many cute personalities. xD They're not all crabby *insert comic drum crash here*.But yeah, if anyone is interested, I have tons of internet resources if anyone's looking to get one. xD

I had many over the years, we just kept them in a regular hermit cage with a dish of water and small pebbles and rocks and sticks. Since they were from myrtle beach they lived for a year and some each, so either they're from a good place or we've been doing something right!
