Hi all! I'm Beck. I'm 28 next week and a grad student working on my master's in social work so I can become a counselor. I'm animal obsessed and I show dogs IRL. I have a Welsh Springer Spaniel named Riff and a traditional blue point Siamese named Pixie. Riff is having puppies in the spring which I'm very excited about (if everything goes according to plan). I've done two animal sims before - K-9Game and DogDayzz  so I'm at least a little familiar with the concept and I love to write and roleplay and my writing partner Willow (1009) referred me here and I also got such a warm welcome from two of the moderators as well! I know how to do graphic work though I'm a little rusty. I used to make all sorts of graphics for customers on K-9 but it's been a while. If People have interest though (and as my super crammed schedule permits) I could give it a go again! One thing I'm curious about is why all the horses if you search for horses for sale are like 400 some game years old? I'm used to animals "retiring" at a certain age in games but the ones here never do? I know, I know I could go buy a game bred horse but where is the fun in that - then I don't get to interact with all of you lovely folks! Anyway feel free to ask any questions. I'm super all over the place at the moment so can't think of anything else to put beyond that I love to read, write fiction, and play with my pets :D HI!

Welcome to HP!

To answer the horses question: Horses here don't die and hang around unless they are owner-deleted deleted at 21 (16 for dogs) or their deletion is requested by the owner before that.
People like to be able to look back along their pedigrees and see the animals they worked on, still around. Players can retire their animals and they will still show up, but it's nice to have the actual animal. ^_^

Hey Beck! Welcome to HP! We're glad to have you here! I'm sure there would be an interest in your graphics.

To add to what Kuwait said about older horses--horses get too old to train at age 21 but most players don't like to retire or delete their horses, so they put them on a retirement account. They can go "visit" their retirees at any time :) Although, I don't know why they would be up for sale? Possibly some players put their horses up  for sale and then quit the game so they just remained for sale forever.

If you're looking to buy a trainable horse, you can do a "by-age" search for horses for sale by putting in the maximum age you want to come up (for example, 20). That will filter only horses for sale that are under 20 years old.

You can also check out our Breed Ambassador program or the "Animal Sales" thread here in the forum to see if anyone is selling a horse you're interested in!

Hope this helps!

Also look at any of the active breeds and let us know if there is anything that sparks your interest. Most people are pretty happy to breed backups and sell certain lines :)

Hey, welcome to HP! I second Sass in checking out the breed ambassadors if you're looking for something specific. Our horse "retire" (can no longer breed) at 21 so you want to look for something preferably in the single digits when buying. :)

Hi guys! :D

I have so many dog breeds I love but since I've never done a horse sim before I'm going to focus on them for a while.

I want to breed Andalusians for dressage and Dutch Warmbloods for eventing. If anyone can point me in the way of someone who does either of those breeds that'd be amazing!

That's super cool that you can put them on a retirement account and all! Do they cease needing to be fed and the like? I'd hate to go visit them and see them all hungry and stuff.
