closing. I had a tired stressed nursing school, non-sleeping human moment. It's over now.

i really wouldnt take it personally, ESPECIALLY if you did not personalize the image (if you did thats a whole other story)
but we are going to stick to the above point

I know for a fact lots of players have LOADS of bought images and never used.

Some people just really like the image but other times that animal might not even be born yet.

You ask; I'll answer.

I've bought one premade image from you, as well as a custom auction - and they're all sitting in a folder on my hard drive waiting to be used when/if the time comes. Images in this folder come from as far back as 2009 to the present - some used heavily, some used briefly, and some not used at all yet. The custom unicorn image I haven't used as I decided against breeding unicorns shortly after ordering it. The premade I bought was used on a breed as I trained it for a short time but ultimately did not connect with and so I decided to move to a different breed. Nothing was personally meant against you when I briefly used or did not use the images yet - I, of course, appreciated the work you put into them and showed that by paying for them (if you feel your time is worth more - charge more!) and thanking you profusely for taking the time and effort to make these gorgeous images.

If you feel strongly about taking them back, then feel free to do so: however, if you do, I'm going to request refunds for the images as I worked for that money to buy those images that you worked for.

Best regards,

D. Nicole

I mean as long as I've been paid for a graphic, I really couldn't care less if someone chooses not to use it for the original intended purpose. I think you're reading too far into it. If you've been compensated for your time then it's not really your business anymore. If you feel like you haven't been fairly compensated then adjust your pricing. I feel like if you start making an issue of folks not using their purchases right away it'll just drive off future sales. Just my two cents, though!

I've had a couple of graphics where I've made them, been paid, and then the person drops the breed, deletes the animal, etc. Do I get worked up over that graphic being "wasted"? Not in the least. I can still use it as an example of my work for my portfolio to show prospective future clients and I've gotten my money - which is the entire point of me making graphics to sell. In other cases I'll have folks (one repeat client in particular) who'll buy a big set of graphics uncustomized for them to use on future generations of their animals. Instead of being upset that they're not used right away for the world to see, I end up looking forward to checking out the finished image on the upcoming generation.

tl;dr - don't read into it too much.

I agree with everyone who has posted so far above me.  I am going to say my two-cents as well and I apologize in advance if it sounds rude.

I agree with mero that you may be reading far too into this, as many people have different reasons for using/not using graphics. I sold several of my graphics in the past on various games that never got used by anyone. They just purchased it and then left it in their computer or a disk somewhere. Was I sad about it? No. I wasn't. Because I got experience learning how to do graphics, examples to show off my work, and paid for the graphics I already completed. Once I got my payment, I no longer cared what they did with it. Like mero, I feel that if you start putting rules on what they should do after purchase, you won't be getting many customers. I also agree with Nicole that if you feel that you're working longer on graphics then you're getting compensated for, then raise your graphic prices.

As for not using customize images, I know several people on an old SIMS I used to play who would buy graphics WAY in advance. I saw people buying G5 - G8 pictures at G3. Their reason for this was because many artists quit/shut down their service so they wanted to hoard as many as they could by said artists to get things covered. It could most easily be the same here. A second reason - at least in my case - I do not have customized images because I simply cannot afford doing so. I used to buy customized images for my AQH generation back in 2013 and I went broke doing it for every single pair. And I only had 5 horses, I know many on here who have hundreds and hundreds of animals. It got much cheaper to just do a generic photo to slap on every generation. Like Nicole, I too have a folder of graphics I purchased back in 2013 that I have never used either. Some were for layout images that never went through do to either frequent breed changes or no money to get coding. Others were just because I simply don't feel they're needed to be used just yet.

I have not purchased lately, but again, this is just my two-cents on the matter to the question.

While I am glad I got it off my chest, because I have felt this way for a while - This board may be to much of a trigger, because I have typed up about three different responses, and ultimately all of them have left me looking really bad. It might be best just to let it drop.

I am not going to ask for all of my images back, I know that realistically if they are purchased at all they  are appreciated, and I am going to leave it at that.
I do appreciate the people that have bought images - and I do not want to make myself appear worse than I already have.

Any item purchased should be left to be used at the buyers own discretion. You got paid for your work and time. What they do after that is really beyond your control. And frankly bad customer service to complain the item isn’t being used and asking for the image to be returned.. then post about it. If they buy it and don’t use it, that’s on them. And some people buy and hold for an animal in a different generation.

You asking for images back simply because you are upset the images aren’t being used is really unfair. It also prevents you from having orders in the future. I have done many images that never got used or are in a safe for a future animal. IDC because 1 they paid and 2 they still have it. This is game currency, even those who do art for USD don’t care, as long as they get paid for their work... why bother caring if it is being used? Life happens, things come up and people forget. Specially if they buy a bunch or double order.. it’s life and it happens.
