Old HL player here. I have had a HP account since 2011 and played extremely lightly throughout the years. I finally want to play more actively as it gives me something to do in my downtime from school. I am a college student from the american midwest (super senior HOLLA) and love horses. I grew up on a horse farm with several horses of my own but do not have any currently. Instead I have 3 snakes and 3 cats 1 foster cat currently. It's my dream to own a dalmatian so hopefully after I graduate school. Here on HP I'll be focusing on Knapstruppers and Dalmatians - I always put my studs up for public breeding so something to consider if you're ever looking.

I have so many questions (pardon my curiosity), but have you ever ridden the horses you cared for before? What are you going into college for, major wise? You said you have a foster cat, do you do shelter work on the side? That's awesome you're getting a dalmation! Are you planning on getting a puppy or an adult? If you do, be sure to spam us with cuteness! :P Do you have any other plans after you graduate?

Hopefully we can chat sometime and get to know each other better!

Dalmations are awesome - I'd have one if I didn't already have 2 GSDs and fiance has pick of our next dog so think it's going to be a Cocker Spaniel

Most of the horses I cared for were mine in fact. I showed rated hunter/jumper shows for a few years which was always my dream since I was a child. We had a few boarded at our house here and there but mostly all the horses were ours! I had a off the track thoroughbred named Monte who suddenly passed right before I left for school and that was pretty much the end of the horse thing for me. It broke my heart as he was the best. Our of all the horses I have ever owned he was all mine and the best boy ever. We purchased him directly off the track and all his training was done by me with the help of various trainers. I brought him from the track to the A rated shows. Best horse ever! Someday I hope to purchase another OTTB. They really love to please and are great horses. Basically the golden retrievers of the horse world - hehe.

I am a poly sci major and one semester shy of graduating. I will probably work for the state government after as I live in my state's capitol city. My dream is to be an interior designer LOL but I maybe eventually when I am financially stable I can begin some of that work on the side.

I do not work directly with a rescue but I am a member of a group on FB which posts cats in danger in the state. The current foster I have is Phoebe and she was found under a porch with her three kittens. I have rehomed all the kittens and just working on getting her healthier. She has been fixed and we are thinking she might have mild asthma so I've been working with a vet on that but she is almost ready for a new home.

Ideally I would like to rescue a dalmatian but they are hard to find and I have 3 cats so I really want it to be used to other animals and children (planning ahead :) ) so we will probably get a puppy just so we know how it is trained. Dalmatians are very high energy and if they aren't raised properly can have a lot of behavorial problems that I would rather avoid early on.

Welcome back and I strongly agree with your assessment of OTTBs. I just bought a 4 year old right off the track this August and just started his retraining. They're such gems and truly want to please.
