Okay so Kaleiya mentioned mentioning this a long time ago, but I wanted to make a real thread for it because it's something I really want lol.

I would love to be able to style animal pages, mostly my project animals. Style the border colors, background colors, add a pattern somewhere maybe, change some fonts, etc.

Now, having played some sim games where that was an option - and having subsequently royally messed up the animal's page to the point where I couldn't even access it anymore and had to have a mod reset it - I know that allowing full styling access can go terribly wrong. So I think it would be best to use a style sheet option.

Basically, style sheets are documents listing CSS styles for a webpage; the document is uploaded to a hosting site. The webpage that will use the styles in the style sheet needs a link to the style sheet. Once the link has been established, the styles in the sheet will take over the webpage.

Instead of having a text box to fill in with code (like the player pages), just have a small box in the Update Animal Info section - just like the picture box. Then we just paste the link to the style sheet there, and it's plugged into the page.

There shouldn't be any impact on gameplay since it would only be used by people who want to use it. And players should host/find a host for the style sheet themselves (just like images) so it's not uploading anything to HP.

This sounds neat, but I think it should be a cash shop feature. 

Cash shop features = good idea and I'd buy it.

why cash shop? how about an upgrade feature? 

I definitely would not spend real money to buy this feature for an animal :/ I don't really agree with making it a cash shop feature, cuz I have to save up HPB to buy the extra energy as it is. Unless the HPD price is cheap enough, I don't think anyone would buy it then. And if the HPD is cheap enough to be worth it, then it wouldn't be worth spending HPB on. I would agree with a regular shop feature, paying just plain HPD for the feature per animal you want the feature on.

I like this idea! I've been on some games that allowed for page styling, and I don't know much of anything about style sheets but if it keeps us from breaking the page it sounds good lol.

I don't see why it needs to be a paid feature outside of supporting HP (which is important) - it would feel a lot like "cool" animal pages would be restricted to paying players, which is not a vibe I really get from HP's community. However, upgrades can be obtained by non-real-money-paying players so I don't think it's too bad as a feature that comes with an upgrade (I imagine since the style sheets are hosted elsewhere we could still access them in case our upgrade expires, thus not losing the information?), OR as just an HPD feature that is available to everyone and that you pay for per animal.

I'm on board with either the upgraded player feature idea or an HPD option in the normal store. I personally wouldn't pay HPB or the equivilent large amounts of HPD for it. It's too much of a minor change/edit to really warrant the price.

Sounds like an awesome idea :) Id be down for this. Maybe if its going to be an extra, then have it a low amount like the dividers or something?
