gelding

Is there any chance we could have an extra check box when gelding a stallion? I accidentally gelded one of mine but thankfully he had already been bred. Just a nice little "Are you sure you wanna do this?" type box? |

I feel like that should be fairly simple to program in, seeing as it already kinda exists with the brand...-pokes sam- |

I'm wondering if we even need the function. What would it be for? |

OMG yes. I have done the accidental fix with no breeding before and it sucked. I would love to see this implemented . |

I agree with everyone above! I have had three times where I nearly gelded one of my stallions from a misclick. I'd love something like this or just see it taken out entirely. I also agree completely with Kuwait, I really do not see the point of having the "gelding/fixing" option anyway? Inbreeding is not a thing on here (impossible really unless it's a way-back generation, I think. Don't quote me there.) and we all pretty much follow a "1 - 2 offspring, maximum 5" standard. Plus, I've had times doing the enter show button where I nearly clicked the geld button and worried I'd ruined the whole line with nothing to show for the work.

What does gelding / neutering animals do? is there a special bonus or something they earn? |

As far as I know, the only thing it does is remove their ability to have offspring. |

If there is no purpose to geld - other than to clip lines (which there would be no conformational or any other reason to do so - animals are pretty basic) could there maybe be a showing bonus incentive or something? |

There really doesn't seem to be any need for them at all. -shrug- |

And I assume if geldings go away, we also get rid of the ability to fix male dogs? |

Geldings and fixed dogs don't serve any purpose imo. No one bothers, especially in case they need to do retirement breedings. However, in case anyone still wants to be able to do this, we could at least just code in one of those ''are you sure you wanna do this?'' notification boxes. That would be enough for me. |
