I just figured that I would introduce myself really quick before I started to get ready for work!
I'm currently a university student completing a B.S. in Animal Sciences - Equine Science option. After I finish this up, I am hoping to either get a M. S. in something related to nutragenomics before going to veterinary school or just going straight into veterinary school. I'm still not quite sure what I want to be when I grow up, but I believe that I have narrowed it down to where I want to specialize in either laboratory animal medicine or emergency and critical care.
I also have three jobs, so my time online can be a bit spotty. I work with the veterinary school's laboratory animals by exercising and enriching them, I am a laboratory assistant in the vet school's clinical pathology laboratory, and I also feed horses at a local stable. I sadly am not able to ride because I can't afford medical insurance for myself, but I am just glad to be able to be around the horses on the ground.
I've a dog (Sandy), one-eyed cat (Resi), two snakes (Elvis the Kingsnake and Milkshake the Milksnake), and a variety of fish that mainly consist of Platys.
Sorry that the intro is pretty short - I'm trying to type this up really quick before I get a quick nap in since I work 5 PM - 12 AM and had to get up at 5:30 this morning to feed horses. |

Hey there, welcome to HP! I think it's super cool that you do lab work in an animal pathology lab! Likewise, nutragenomics is a VERY interesting topic of study (I was Biochem major so that stuff really interests me). Best of luck with school! If you ever need science career/science advice, let me know. :D If you need anything on HP, let me know too!
