Alternative to PayPal

Maybe make there be an alternative to PayPal for players who don't have a Paypal, maybe like a mail order? Just a thought :)

Duckie, I think that's in the works, but you also don't have to have a paypal to upgrade. I use paypal guest, which you basically just enter your name, address and credit card information and you're good to go and the upgrade is instant. :) |

Ok just wondering :) I don't have PayPal or any of that, and I always like do stuff by mail but whatever is better |

Duckie - We are working on alternative forms of payment, but unfortunately we probably won't have a mail-in option simply because the cost of the P.O. box would out-weigh the amount of upgrades we get that way.If you're uncomfortable putting your personal financial information online we do have the upgrade auctions :). And as Mania pointed out, you don't need to have a PayPal account to upgrade. When you click upgrade via PayPal under where it asks you to sign in there is a small bar that says "Don't have a PayPal Account, Pay with Credit Card" or something and you can just put in your card info and it will get you upgraded :).The alternative forms of payment we are looking into right now are Google Checkout and Amazon Checkout. We will probably offer all three options (PayPal, Google, and Amazon) for our players. For those concerned about it though, we WILL be keeping our PayPal.The perks to Google and Amazon Checkouts are pretty cool. With Google you can pay with the account you may already have for your HTC or your Galaxy (they use this on their touch to pay feature), and with Amazon you can pay using your Amazon account information (assuming you have one) without ever even leaving HP! :). So it'll make several convenient ways for people who don't like PayPal to pay. We've looked into a few other things, but these really are the best 3 options that we can see. |
