So currently, when you look at an animal's pedigree, it only shows you the previous three generations. If the generations go back further, then you have to check each individual animal's pedigree to see how far back it goes, and so on. I think this is perfectly fine the way it is, as we can see all the details about each ancestor in a pedigree. However, I think it would be cool if there were a link to a full view of the pedigree. You could see the whole thing in one page. Perhaps it could be possible to click on a single animal from there? Not sure how the coding would work here, but tbh I'd be fine if it just generated an image of the whole pedigree and I could zoom in as needed. |

I think it might be a bit difficult to show the full pedigree on one page, server-wise and also just general page size. They would be HUGE for some of the longer generations. However, I would settle for just being able to see the generation number below or next to their points on the pedigree page just for reference. I know a lot of people mark their animals' generations on their name, but personally, I don't like to clutter the name field with too much info. |

i think it'd be nice to be able to just click on one link that opens a full pedigree. i wouldn't even care if it from there you could click on to get to w/e animal, just something to see where one animal leads to in a pedigree if you're looking for a specific animal, just name and ID would be find with me, that way that animal could be looked up if someone really wanted to search it - if that makes sense lol |

Or right now it links to each animal's page. Maybe under that could be a link to that animal's pedigree, so it's just easier to check it? Instead of going back to the great-grandmother's page and then clicking on her pedigree, just going right there. |

Being able to click a link to generate a pedigree for an animal would be awesome! Doesn't have to be clickable links to each individual animal. It could just generate an image, or even PDF file, that would open in a new browser window and in plain-text have the pedigree mapped out. |

I did mention either coding or an image lol. Whatever's easier. |

I can add it to the list to ask about in a future update! Fair warning though, in the past, I've been told that the strain on the server would be pretty big, so we decided it wouldn't be worth it. |

Do you mean the coding to just make this is a strain? Or is it that regardless of whether we generate pedigree pages or just a big image? |

Well, both. An image would require generating dynamic images which is possible but it's not something HP is currently set up to do, but just to do it with coding like the current pedigrees would be taxing because for each parent and grandparent, the game would have to submit a query to the database, and for each query you have, the more strain on the server. However, it's been awhie since I've looked into it and the server has changed and so have common coding practices - so it might be easily possible these days, but no promises. |

Gotcha! Usually pedigrees don't go so far back, so I don't need it. I do write out really long/complex ones to avoid inbreeding, though. |
