I've been sangre forever. I tried Tink for a bit but it never really stuck.

Those of you that changed your player name, do you ever miss your old name or feel odd playing with a different name?

I'm thinking of Lumos or Riddikulus but I'm really back on forth between the two or if I want to change.

Just feel like shaking things up wouldn't be bad.

I also know players who have played with two names, knd of like two brands. Maybe I can keep my current lines that Jaya has been caring for as sangre, and any new breeds as a new name? Idk

I've changed my name four times. Dulcie, Nonna (though I admittedly didn't play very long under this alias), Kinsley, then Prynne.

Sometimes after awhile a name doesn't feel like it suits me as much as it did when I first chose it. I've personally never had a lot of trouble with changing my name or people accepting the change, but I did have a few people sad to see Kinsley go.

My brands being different never bothered me. My Russian Arabians have dulcie as their brand that's okay! I do use something more neutral now though in case the name ever changes again so I can keep them all the same from here on out. 

But you have to do what you feel is right! If Sangre no longer feels like it's you anymore or if you've simply grown beyond it, I definitely recommend mixing it up. But give it a lot of thought before you settle on one to make sure it's right!

Personally, I love both, but Lumos stood out to me. It's such a pretty name!

I've loved all the names you've used, but I still call you Dulcie in my head LOL. All of them have been unique and strong. Where did you get Prynee from?  I'll always love Sangre but with being gone so long, a new name feels fresher and easier to have a clean slate with I guess.

I suppose I could always go back to Sangre if I wanted to lol. I'm an overthinker :p

That's a really good idea about a neutral brand. I think I'll try to figure out something to tie everything together that could be really cool as well.

Lumos was the first one I thought of! It looks like someone used it in the past but it is no longer active. 

I used to change VERY often on HL, but then when I came here, I was taina and then tanaris. I've stuck with it for so long, I don't even think of changing it anymore. Plus everyone knows me as Tana and/or Banana lmao, so I don't think any other name would stick.

Prynne came to me from a movie Phis suggested that I should watch (The Commuter). There was a witness being transported by train under the alias of Prynne and I instantly fell in love with the sound of it. I decided to look into it's origin because they mentioned it in the movie which was Hester Prynne which is a protagonist of Nathaniel Hawthorne's novel The Scarlet Letter. I further fell in love with it for deeper reasons at that point and decided it would be my next name. I was already entertaining the idea of a new name for at least one month prior, but nothing had clicked enough for me to take the plunge until Prynne. (:

So on HL and when I very first came here I was Moonlit Dreams.  Then someone else joined using it so I changed it to something (object was lol) that I LOVED and it's been Concourse since. I really want to change my name. But I would loose so many layouts that I love if I did so I'm torn. 

The object isn't  as important to me anymor . I still love it, but I haven't  seen it on a daily basis in years. 

I've been shaenne since 2006 and I think I tried changing it a couple times over the years but nothing stuck. I changed it to ashbee recently purely because it's my psn name. I changed it on a whim and haven't felt the need to change it back yet lol.

I think shit would hit the fan if I changed my name, lmao. I think I originally started as tamra, but then I went to a barn and there was a really pretty mare called adeina and I loved it, hence my name!

I've not had any second thoughts about it since I picked it out in 2011.

Personally, I like sangre... but if you really wanted to changed I'd go with Lumos.

I honestly have a hard time with name changes. I tend to still call people by the old name XD

Ive been maha since like forever I feel like its half my identity (online at least) I feel like its akin to changing your real name. Just feels weird. I have to change my rl name enough as it is because no one can seem to pronouce it properly -.-

I agree - name changes can be hard, because people think of you with one name. But if you don't feel like that name is YOU anymore, change it!

I agree with Jaya. I was Eyre on HL forever and I thought of bringing it over to HP. But back then, HL still existed so I could be Mirth and Eyre and be okay. But now that HL is gone, I kind of miss Eyre sometimes, but Mirth has stuck here. "New game, new identity" was my mantra. It could change back to Eyre, but not for the time being. I remember there was another player here that went by Lumos back when I started in 2013. We bred Westies together for awhile, but I was Coriander back then and not a very consistent player at that. 

I changed my name a couple times on HL. I originally was fleur, then sincerely, then shee. There may have even been something before fleur, but that was so long ago.

I've been shee since 2008/2009, I don't think I've ever really thought about changing it much, but I also really like it.

So, if you're not digging your name anymore, try changing it! If you're unsure just don't permanetly brand your animals with the new name until you've tested it out for awhile. :)

I wish you more luck than I've had with name changes... As much as I have literally HATED being "Arduous" at times, that name is who I have been since 1999.... it's not going to change, no matter how many times I have tried. Everyone ends up calling me Ardy regardless of what I change to.

Some of us have had names for so long, that they're our legacy, as Phizzy said. Or a big part of it, at least. I also call people by their old names, usually. I get it if people need a change, but I say it should be a name that you've known you wanted since forever, so that way it might stick.

wise words tana! basically, i feel like the new name must be more powerful (/meaningful/ for you) then the legacy the original holds. 

i've accepted mine lol, though sometimes i think, hmmm i should give it another go at changing.... then i come to my senses. xD

i went by aquaslullaby for a good while, love the ocean and love the music so i thought it was fitting, after while i just wasn't feeling it much anymore which is about when i changed my name to match my dA name
i love my new name - it's a little play on words. it was suppose to be ephemra, but that name was take by someone else on dA so i decided against it, but played with the vowels and came up with the one i have no, which is perfect since it also includes my first horses name "ira"

as far as missing my old name, either auqaslullaby or even paintedchaos, i do miss them sometimes and wonder if changing was the right thing and i kinda ponder over that for a little bit, but over all, i do like my new user and really wouldn't ever want to go back to any of the old users i've ever gone by

I'm kind of stuck in the same conundrum at the moment. I've been Kimi on HL for years (and years and YEARS) and a part of me feels like a change to something totally fresh would be nice. HL's gone, never to return, so why cling to it, right? I have a new name in mind that I do like a great deal, but I have a lot of wonderful memories with this name. So I'm very torn. I'd like to decide before I really start a line in earnest because of branding.
