Sunday night I was browsing cars on FB market place.

The last running car I had was in 2016 - it was a 2002 Chevy Venture. My husband found it, bought it and it ran like shit from day one. He tried, it was a good van - but it was way to prone to over heating (and accourding to the car forums, it's a common issue) so I did not trust it while he was at work (I have babies, and it left us stranded once) and would only drive it when he was home (and even then - when he was home I could take the truck, so I just took the truck). Anyways, it has become a habit to look at stuff and dream of actually being a two car family again. It opens up the possibility of play dates, getting out of the house for longer than grocery pick up times, maybe getting to go back to work. I just wasn't expecting to actually find something. So when I did... I kind of freaked out a little, but messaged the seller to make sure the price was right. Starting putting in loan applications and calling around on Monday. We got approved through a company I had never heard of prior to Monday (they are owned by Suntrust, but the subbrand is something foreign to me - but they gave us a 7% interest rate so I will take it!). Then I started aggressively putting in job applications so that I could afford the car I was trying to get. Around 5pm, I stopped putting in applications and called all the places I had applied and I landed a few interviews for this week, one for the very next morning. Needless to say - I got one of the main jobs I wanted, and they are paying me more than what I was asking for, and for the first time in .... a long time (2011 I believe - which was when my 1993 Honda Civic Del Sol died :'(  - I really need to rebuild Grasshopper) I have a running, reliable car and I paid less than 10k for her.

She needs a name, or he... idk - feels like a she though.

She is a 2018 Honda Fit Sport (what can I say, I have a weakness for Hondas xD)

I still am having a hard time believing she is mine. She is currently sitting outside my house and it is killing me not going anywhere in her. XD I had to post this somewhere cause I am not going to put it on my facebook page, but I am super proud and happy to have her and I do need help giving her a name. Grasshopper was Grasshopper because ... well it was my little grasshopper. I will have to see if I can find some pictures for you. I cannot think of a name for the Fit just yet, so if anything pops to mind - feel free to share it.  So hard to believe that on Monday I was jobless and carless and by Tuesday I had both (I didn't pick the car up til Wednesday, but all the fiancial stuff was finished on Tuesday).

First name that came to mind was Firefly! To kinda go along with the bug theme haha!

I like the Firefly suggestion, it starts with an F like the Fit, AND it is bright and happy like a firefly *nudge nudge* :)

I never did understood naming cars until Grasshopper. XD But she earned that name for being green and because she was the car I learned how to drive manual in, she was a little hoppy at first. 🤣🤣🤣 It just came to me. She has been the only car I've ever named (I jokingly call my husband's sports bike Jolene. Cause the Dolly Parton song. But that is mainly to piss him off 🤣). 

This one is also a manual transmission ❤🙌 I didn't think I'd be able to find a newer car with a manual. Things have been rough as I haven't driven one since 2011. But It is nowhere near as bad as when I first started driving one in 2009. I kinda like Firefly too. We will see. She may end up not being named at all, but maybe something will feel right  and stick.

Buhaha. Omg. My sister calls me Mango and I call her Strawberry, so that could work. Now she just needs to get a red car. XD I'm about to take her out to get food for me and the kids cause hubby is working late. Semi-excitee xD

 Found a picture of Grasshopper. She was in her prime here. It wasn't long after this that I managed to get involved in three accidents in one month, none of which I was at fault for. -le sigh- And then she decided to injure herself and there is a lot of damage to that front passenger fender now. -cries-

YAY CONGRATS!! That's so awesome, i'm very happy for you. There's nothing quite like the feeling of having independence and having your own car. When I bought mine I wanted to drive it ALL THE TIME lol. I still do, but fuel is fucking expensive so I can't really afford to be wasting it. Mine is a V8 that together with my lead foot tends to be costly when i'm not being conservative lol.

I never got into the whole car naming thing until I started watching Street Outlaws LOL. Mine still doesn't have a name though.
