I thought we could do with a post to show off your ponies! (or those you ride/love, if you don't have your own!)

This is Sam! He's my favourite pony at the place I volunteer at and ride (which is a therapeutic riding stable for people with disabilities). He's really smart and able to figure out the abilities of his rider. He has no problem going super speedy with me, but for the handicapable riders he's super gentle. He gives me that look in the picture ever time he sees me because he knows I give him the good treats :P

Sam's a 21 year old Grade gelding...he's about 14hh and could really due with a bit of weight loss :P In the winter, he gets a super-thick winter coat that's like a thick carpet. If I could guess, I would say he's a Canadian Horse x Pony.

In the background there, you can see Teddy, who's Sam's brother-from-another-mother. Both of them have been in the program since 1999 or 2000, and are very attached to one another.

Naw thanks Z.exious. The horses (and the volunteers) at all these places i've ridden or done horsemanship are incredible. So selfless and so giving. I honestly wouldn't be where I am today without them. I will never give up on this. Whether I ever compete properly again or not, i'll continue as therapy. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone lol.

He's not "mine" but Eagle is the horse I almost exclusively rode in lessons. Him and a little fat Rocky Mountain I have no pictures of named Levi. That's the little girl that shows him.

Eagle is I think about 9? Liver chestnut Tennessee Walker gelding that is shown in keg/flat shod Saddleseat. When I finally get back into lessons I want to show him in gaited dressage.

Black Raven. Your story about getting your old horse back, literally had me in tears! Wow that must've been so incredible for you. I'm glad you got him back... and even better, i'm glad he remembered you! It must have been incredible when the penny dropped for him!

Ths is my boy, Valiant! (RN Mr. Swagger).  He's an OTTB :)  I purchased him from the awesome organizaiton, Canter USA.  He is literally my heart horse.  He's so gentle and lowkey, not at all a typical hot-blooded thoroughbred!  He's the envy of my boarding stable ;)

(Hoping this works).

This is Fidley my New Forest pony - She is an 11 year old drama queen.  I 've had her since she was 3 and life with her has been a roller coaster but there is now light at the end of a tunnel.  Who in their right mind goes to view a horse - sees it in a pen in a barn, touches it and it scrambles to the back of the barn and then views a second horse in a field that comes to call and stands calmly while being handled all over and chooses pony number 1?

She's galloped off with a leadrope attached when removing a fly mask (the velcro spooked her) and ploughed into a gate and down the road. Galloped around field with 22ft lead rope attached just after I attached it - leading to rope burns by grabbing it as she ran past and she spun with lunge line attached, got it under the back of saddle so I'm now hanging on for dear life with a plunging, terrified pony who's saddle has come up her neck and now resting on her head!  She has a 3-point breastplate on so when saddle came over head she is still tied up in who knows what but managed to untangle her.  Honestly, I've never had so many disasters with any horse.  Delighted to say that she is for the most part a confident, happy little pony.

This is Tilly.  She is my 16 year old Highland and we've been together since she was 3.  She is a confident, cheeky little madam who I think the world of.  She was the first horse I started and although she started well she hates to do the same thing over as we found out.  After a few times of walking and stopping in the arena she planted and refused to move although she did try to nibble my foot and lay down with me on her.  We went out hacking and off we went.

We did show jumping, cross country, dressage, le trec and beach riding.  Ask her to go anywhere and she would (over bridges, under them, through water and squeezing through spaces so small I had to dismount and remove the saddle.  She loves to gallop and going down the beach and splashing through the water is a favourite.

The first yard she was on she opened all the gates and you knew you'd find her on the yard when you arrived in the morning.  She made me late for an appointment because she kept opening the gate and escaping but waiting until I reversed the car.  She had no stable - in the end I had someone stand and hold the gate shut!  We had doors at the end of the barn that were never an issue for 16 years and then Tilly came along, opened them (sliding doors tied shut but she chewed the twine) and she and her partners in crime munched their way through 15 made up feeds (intended for horses 15hh including a Clydesdale and Thoroughbreds and Tilly and friends were 13.3 and under).

Link below is of my babies.

Coal Creek Teeter is a 23 year old buckskin Morgan gelding, I've owned him for 7 years and ridden for 8. We did everything together from trail competitons to A rated shows.

Peyton's Unseen Wings is a 14 year old Sabino Paint mare. I got her when she was 10 and was a fat, halter broken pasture pet. She has come a long way and we will begin our show career next spring.

The first horse is my 20 year old quarter horse gelding, he is registered but I don't have his paper work or even know his name. But we just call him Lucky.  He has worked cattle for most of his life and spent about 3 or so years in a pasture before I got him. He has some fire under him, but right now he's lazy. I lost all of my cofidence recently while riding and I haven't been on him or my mare in about 2 months?  He does great with kiddos and I often lead him around for my fiances brother and such. He refuses to go forward unless he's being led or its his choice.

The second link is my mare Stormy, who I believe is quarter horse. She was a rescue and is 15 years old. She is blind in one eye, but can still be rode. She is skittesh at first but seems to settle right down after a few mintues. I've even put my fiances brother on her.

I have more pictures of both of them on my page!
