Does anyone have favorite colorful pens that don't smudge?

The sharpie pens (ultra fine tip) that I use in my planner bleed through the pages really bad and I'm thinking it's time to try something that's more ball point and less felt tip.

I also love a good Sharpie/felt tip and have had good luck so far with the PaperMate Flair pens - they have some great color options, but the line weight changes over time as the tip wears down. Not sure that that's a real issue, but it bothers me as a perfectionist.

Otherwise, I love Micron pens for both sketching and writing. They're known not to bleed and have colorful options and a range of diameters for different line thicknesses, plus a brush tip just for fun. Micron would be my top recommendation but the Flair style is good too!

I was gonna say, most of the studygrams I follow use Mildliner markers and rave about them. For pen pens, I absolutely love my PaperMate InkJoy ballpoints; bright colors and suuuuper smooth writing - seriously the smoothest writing experience I've ever had. As an author, I handwrite my projects and I had to find a pen that was easy to use, low friction, smooth, just generally as easy-going on my hands as possible and these fit the bill :D (the pink does bleed through tho; the other colors don't!)

Sharpies are alcohol based pens. Anything alcohol based will most likely bleed trough paper if it is not big enough. I suggest anything over 120 gsm ( and put an extra thing under your painting)

Felt tip pens do well on any paper that is 100gsm smooth or more.

Chameleon just brought new fineliners to the market:  https://eushop.chameleonartproducts.com/pages/fineliners I actually enjoyed working with those, they where in the scrawlrbox this month (subscription art supplies box)
in terms of fineliners: Micron or Staedler are very good fineliners. I use  them for my professional art.

However you are asking for ballpoint pens. I really enjoy the Helix Oxford ballpoint pens, They are very smooth and juicy and ALWAYS work. I bought a package of 50 black ones of those, I LOVE them My boyfriend loves them too. They are my #1 to go ballpoint pen as they never fail.

Pilot G2 has some really nice colorfull ballpoint pens too, if you like gel ink they have the pilot juice gel ink ones.

I switch between 3 different sets of pens.

Ye Olde Trusty Bic Round Stic pens , my paper mate flair markers, and the Pilot G-2 07 or the fine tip pilot pen. Love a good fine tip!
