I think it'd make creating custom layouts a lot easier if we didn't have to contend with the built in layouts for our pages. Could we get a checkbox or button to turn off the default styles for the pages we can customize our layouts on?

There is hardly any styling for the player pages. It's mostly basic html to set up the page itself, such as the boxes that contain all the player point and money info, as well as the box that displays your animals. Everything on the page is 100% customizable. If you view the source code for a bare home page, you can see exactly what css is used on the pages so you know what to modify :)
