So a friend has thrown dodgem a challenge where I have to give a persuasive speech on dogs. See, he's a big cat fan and while this is just for fun, I need to win XD

If y'all have anything that would make a good point, post below! Due by Wednesday 11th.

Althought both dogs and cats have been proved to help reduce stress and blood pressure, dogs are better for your overall cardiovascular health as they encourage you to get more exercise than cats

Dogs offer more protection than cats: your home is less likely to be broken into if the burglar hears a dog barking at the door

Dogs encourage you to be more social with people

that being said i love dogs and cats equally :p

I'd like to note that this is coming from a cat person, buuttt:

dogs prepare you for having children and teach you to be more responsible for another living thing than cats because they require more constant care and attention. They also are less picky eaters, haha.

I watched a documentary and it proved cats don't get attached to their owners like a dog does.  When I got back from SA and my parents brought me back from the airport, we all went in the house and I went straight upstairs.  My mum let the dog out of the kitchen and he ignored both my parents and made a beeline for my room then knocked me on my back licking me to death!  I didn't even call him, he was just that excited to see me again :') I love him and he loves me!

I dunno, my dog couldn't care less what I did (I'm lucky if I get a few excited tail wags), but my cat gets really upset if I leave and then when I come home he's super excited, haha.

Glad I could make you guys laugh!

My cat surprisingly greets me at the door every time I come home.  Even more so if I have been gone a couple days.  -shrugs- Every animal is different!

My cat does not care unless I have a can of food with me as I walk in the door. My dog on the other hand acts like I was never going to come back and it's a miracle, complete with happy circles and lots of happy whines

dogs are much more needy than cats (in general) so they're more likely to be super excited to see you when you get home, since they rely on your for everything and the world basically revolves around you interacting with them and taking care of them.. cats are more independent and take care of themselves moreso than a dog does, which can be interpreted as 'less attached' than a dog.

But every dog and every cat is different. One of my cats books it down the stairs as soon as I get home and rubs against my legs and meows like crazy when I say hello to her and she cries and waits by the door when I leave and my other cat just kinda lurks in the background and maybe I'll get lucky and get a leg rub once the excitement dies down :p
