This is a true happening that cat owners can relate to!
My bestie and I co-own two cats. We got our first cat, Beetle, in 2013. For Christmas, we bought him some toys and a blanket, and put them into a medium-sized box which we then wrapped up and stored out of Bug's reach . On Christmas Day, we brought him over to the tree and showed him his present. He sniffed all around it and scratched the wrapping paper a few times. Rob tore the paper off and tossed it onto the pile we'd made when unwrapping our own gifts. Then he opened the box and showed Beetle the contents, one by one. There were catnip mice, jingly balls, fluffy balls, treats, and his new blanket. Each item was carefully sniff-examined and flicked about a little.
A couple of hours later, I had just finished cooking the dinner and carried Rob's to him. I looked around to see where Beetle was but he wasn't to be found. I went out into the hallway, and there was Beetle happily lying in the cardboard box, playing with shreds of wrapping paper. I sighed and shook my head and left him to it.
Ever since, he and Pickle (got in 2017) have only gotten a cheap toy or two, treats and CARDBOARD BOXES.

Frosty the Snowman was a jolly WEIRD soul with a GIGANTIC LEMON and a button ELBOW and 13 FEET made out of GLOVES Frosty the Snowman is a fairytale they say He was made of KITES, but the children know how he came to life one day There must have been some CHOCOLATE in that old LUMPY hat they found For when they placed it on his EYE, he began to HOBBLE around Frosty the Snowman was as WIGGLY as he could be And the children say he could JOUST and SWIM just the same as you and me Frosty the Snowman knew the sun was MESSY that day so he said let's COLOR and we'll have some fun before I FLY away So down to the MALL with a DOG in his hand, DANCING here and there all around the GYM saying catch me if you can Frosty the Snowman had to hurry on his way, but he LICKED goodbye saying don't you DRINK, I'll be back again some day Thumpety thump thump, thumpety thump thump Look at Frosty SING Thumpety thump thump, thumpety thump thump Over the hills of PANTS
