New Field Excitement

Not the most exciting thing for others but the yard I'm on each person has their own field and my current field is 2 acres but a 3 acre field has become available and I've agreed with Yard owner to move to it so my ponies will have more space and more grass (hopefully).  I actually went to see it today and instead of it being open plan there are numerous fences up so it's divided into smaller paddocks with options to close paddocks off to rest and to open others up.

Here it is with my crude drawing skills - black lines are permanent fencing, brown lines within the paddock is the split paddocks and yellow are all the gates. The black line running all the way to the bottom actually has a track to the left of it so the ponies can have the bottom and the top - shutting off the middle section.  (The paddock in the middle belongs to my best friend and the one on the far right is where I am now).

Each field has it's own horse shelter and lockable tackroom so no sharing with other owners. Water is collected from the roof into a large container and then into a bath.

That is exciting Tifi!

I hope you and your ponies are happy with the move!

I really like the idea of being able to close off the paddocks, that way you can rotate them to keep the grass growing 😊

One of them is a Highland pony and she wrecks all my temp fencing so the fact this is already set up and is permanent it should keep her contained. I've always sectioned and rotated my field but Tilly goes where Tilly wants to go and I'm hopeful of grass actually getting to grow as I can keep her out.

I promised Rob when I moved on that this is the yard I'm staying on and there will be no more moves. I was there 9 months when I moved to current field (friend needed the one we were sharing due to new horse and someone else moved out) and now 10 months later another move.   Need to wait until 1st Feb before can move though  🤣
