I'm not sure how they are intended to work, but it would be nice if each player could "register" a tag.  No tags could be identical, as each one would be unique to the player who registered it.  Then on the animal page you would just click a tickbox for "Tag?".  I could see a downside to this being that wince we have so many players, it might be hard to keep the tags unique.  Perhaps it could be an Upgrade perk?

Are you meaning in place of the brand?

tronic, on dogs brands are called tags, so I bet that's what she means. :)

I also like this idea a lot. In addition as a money drainer, it could be set up so that you can purchase tag changes from the store.. Like my tag is currently 1663, my player number, so I would register that and it would be mine, but if after a month or something I found a better one and it was available, I could go to the store and pay the fee to change it. I'm pretty sure I played a game in my teen years that had a tag/brand system like this and it was really cool.

But what about multiple accounts? I have a lot of breeds and my brand/tag on all of them is "FS." The issue I see with this is that the tag would be registered to an account, so players would need a different tag on every account...but if there's a way around that, I like the idea of being the only one with my tag

I'm with Famous. It sounds like a good idea, but since I have multiple accounts, how would I be able to keep the same one on all of them? As it is, I don't believe I've seen duplicate brands/tags popping up, but I haven't paid that much attention since I just have my one that I've been using since I started here in 2011.

And I also like Shae's idea of being able to buy a brand/tag change if you decide you want to switch it.

there's a way to tell if accounts are registered to the same person, right? What if the tags went off of that instead of the specific account? 

There's a way for us to SEE it but not so much for the game to read it if you follow me.

I'm with the "it sounds awesome!" but I do brand all of my animals across all accounts with 724 so they link back to my main...
