Stallion vs. Mares - Point System
Equ » Autumn is in the air🍁 January 2nd, 2014 7:09:39am 927 Posts |
I have played HP for almost 3 -4 months now and I have trained a lot of animals here. I have always noticed something odd; I have noticed that stallions gain points faster than the mares. Why is this? According to another forum post, Samantha had stated that the mares are more valuable because they're whom the foal's points come from. Not to mention the care they give like she stated. So out of curiosity and if anyone can answer - Why do stallions get points faster if they're not as valuable? Shouldn't the dam of your foal have this quality?
Let me know your thoughts , guys. I'm curious to see your point of view!

My mares tend to gain points faster... Maybe its different for every account...? |

It's all random...there's no real system to it. My animals tend to reflect that. If a speficic gender gets more points by retirement its because there were 2 male or 2 females with store mates so the lined ones just started higher. for example on my doxie account i have one lined male and one lined female and one store male and one store female. The lined male and stores are doing great but the lined female is really falling behind. but my yorkies are a different story. Last generation my glow lined male did horribly when my other lined male and 2 lined females did great. -shrugs- just random. |

Exactly like lemo said, points awarded from shows are completely random. It's not swayed in any direction for breed, gender, etc. |

Well - Just odd that only my stallion increases points heavily and my mare doesn't. For example - One day Calahari will be at 554k then the next at 563k; Whilst the mare, Liberty, will go from 538k - 543k. It seems more like a glitch how the stallion gets more. This seems odd to be JUST from certain breeds because I've raied about 3 - 4 different kinds and in each it is ONLY the store stallion that succeeds in goals but the mares fall back in goals. I don't know though..:/

My experiences with this match up with what Lemo said - for me, it varies by the individual, regardless of breed/gender/lineage/etc. Even my dogs are the same. I track point gains nightly in a spreadsheet, so it becomes obvious really quickly who I need to spend more time on. Like in my current gen, I could enter my both of my lined horses (Schnapps & Jubilee) in the EXACT same shows, and Schnapps will always gain less. I have at least one horse every gen that refuses to gain points like I want it to, lol. I just deal with it by very carefully handpicking shows each night. |

@misa - Then that may be how I have to do it lol. Because my stallion Calahari does fantastic in points, but my mare Liberty is like yours. She just refuses to do anything lol. I've had that with every breed I've attempted (Boxers, Tennessee Walkers, Saddlebreds & now the current animals), where the stallions succeed beter. I guess I need to use your method and handpick shows, buy privates/tixs to JUST focus on Liberty. :P

If you want to spend an arm and a leg, then yeah, privates/tickets are the way to go. But regardless of how my horses/dogs do on a nightly basis, just entering 80 publics a week has them retiring easily above 1 mill points. There is no sway towards stallions in the points. I have mares that are sitting far better than studs on several of my lines, store or otherwise. It has nothing to do with breeds, nothing to do with a glitch. It is entirely random, just like with breedings. Some stallions will throw only fillies no matter how many times you breed them, some only colts, some one of each. It's all random. |

I must say I like the randomness of it, I think it adds an interesting (and realistic) twist to the game. Naturally, some rl horses are better suited than others for show. For what it's worth, my AB mare points considerably faster than my stallion. They're both store bought, and the mare is nearly 50k above her counterpart. |

I was wondering about this as well. I have four store arctic foxes and it seems like the two males have gotten to 1mil faster than the girls. :P I thought it was random, but I wasn't sure. :) Glad to know now that it is. |

It's definitely all random, it's not a glitch. It's just how shows go. I'll have dogs that are near 100k ahead of others over time, it's just how it is. |
