HP Economy

I've seen a lot of players, and have myself experienced, complaining about the bad HP economy.I do have some suggestions on what we can do to help. Let's face it, guys. This is hard on both the players and the creators of the game; Like Samantha had stated in a post, this isn't a simple fix like a code mistake or a game bug. It is along, hard debate because while some players are for one thing, others are disagreing to the fact. Well, let's put this in perspective for a bit, shall we?
OK, so obviously we all know that in order to have a GOOD economy people need to be able to spend money, BUT both sides should be balanced in ability to buy things. Right now in this economy, if you're a basic player, you cannot go very far as opposed to upgraded players. You cannot make 5 shows a week, do services, buy tixs/graphics, etc. like upgraded members can.
However - Lately it's not exactly a walk in the park for upgraded members either. Training is slow, tixs/graphics are too expensive, shows abd upgrades are harder to sell, and other problems. Now I have seen a couple people say to only buy tixs ffor projects or to stop the weekly salary. Stopping the weekly salary is ONLY good to those whom have collected a lot of money to spend, but for players who are still trying to get money whether coming back from hiatus or still starting out, it can be difficult. Below are some suggestions tgat upgraded players can take to help out. I am in NO way forcing anyone to do these method, however, do not complain about the expenses if you're not willing to play a role in helping.
1.) Lower graphic prices - I DO understand that art takes time and a lot of effort, as well as wanting the highest price but in this time that is not available. Though SOME players can indeed pay your price, there are many more out there who cannot. The solution? Try setting prices to 50 -80mil instead of 100mil . Also OCCASIONALLY have your graphic prices reduced (Like Black Friday or Thanksgiving Sales). This will not only benefit buyers, but yourself as well since you'll be making money AND attracting new costumers. 2.)Have bulk ddiscounts - Honestly I cannot understand the high prices of horse tixs lately. Suggestively, give a bulk discount to those who buy more than those whose don't (Though still be fair to others!). Set your prices from 500k per ticket to 100k (Or whatever is low in tixs), but for bulk buyers set it at a 10 - 15% discount. For example, should a player buy 250 tixsu instead of 500k per ticket, subtract it to a discount. This could help greatly and help with buying for animals. These are only a couple ssuggestions of how we can help. What do you think? Also, PLEASE be polite about this. I do not expect you to agree, however this was difficult to write because of being shy of people hating me. Younmay dislike my idea or have a different opinion, but please put it nicely. :)

Lowering prices doesn't help. We don't just need people to pay less- we need money to come out of the economy altogether. This happens through things like buying from the store, vetting your animals, etc. That money just goes away. Less money in circulation means people have less money to spend, which means prices will go down.
I agree one solution is to lower the amount players get from the bank each week, but that's taking away perks that people have come to depend on, so it's not really fair to do to people. :( |

Has the possibility of taxing been thrown out there? Like, taxing all accounts 10-15% of the total balance every month and just completely taking that money out of circulation.

I really don't think you'll get the majority of players to agree that should happen. :P |

I don't know if it's just HP going through a quiet phase right now or if the whole enonomy thing is starting to settle down, but ever since the sales account was introduced and a crap ton of money has been taken out of the game (and other things like raised store item prices) i've noticed the prices of stuff coming down. Dog tickets and show spots at least, because hardly anyone is buying so the sellers are lowering prices to attract buyers.
Edit: I don't really like the taxing idea. On shows and stuff yeah, sure, but not taking a percentage of a player's total balance on a regular basis. It would be a bit of a kick in the pants to work your butt off saving for something only to have a chunk of your savings taken away every month or whatever |

It is slowly getting better. Upgrade prices have been slowly going down, too. |

It seems like horse tickets went from almost 500k to 350-ish in like a week or two xDD |

I understand that it's hard for new players, but then again, we all started in the same position, really. I couldn't do graphics when I started and I was too lazy to train, I didn't have much in ways of income, but I managed somehow. Plus now, there's a few more help pages and a couple associations and stuff dedicated to helping new players get started, and there's always players willing to help out new players with training and a bit of money, we didn't really have that a few years ago. |

I've been trying to get things changed on the site so upgraded players pay more for things, so I know upgraded players do have an easier time with money - we have more ways to make money, plus the extra from the bank. It's just little things, but over time, it will add up. |

To be honest, up until a few days before christmas I hadn't been particularly active for several months, but since coming back I've noticed quite a significant drop in the prices of tickets, graphics and even upgrades are slowly coming down. So as Adranth says, it is steadily improving.

horseShores and dog tickets have dramatically decreased, more than 100K off from what I've seen. Upgrades are slowly going down too, and I have seen some people offer graphics at a lower price to adhere with the economy better. It's slowly going down, and Ill say I'm surprised. |

I agree with shaenne. I wouldn't like it if the tax comes out of the total amount of money we have. It would definitely be disappointing to have money taken out when you're trying to save for a project or just need it to train your animals.

I think thigns are improving, and that's part of why we're seeing prices come down. But it's also I think why the buying/selling has slowed down a bit - it's just adjusting, and it'll bounce back. |

Most players I look at have at least $350mil on their main account. Compared to ticket, show, and graphics prices I think that is a good amount of money. |

however, there are some players, like me for example, who aren't able to do graphics and that's where it seems like most of some people get their income from. They also get income from selling their tickets, but not everyone has enough upgrades to be able to bring in that much money. |

I disagree, actually, with the income coming from graphics -- graphics really haven't been popular on HP lately. I think while it's one way for people to make money, it's hard to do that way right now. |

I don't see a lot of people making any money in the auctions unless they're like well known players. ): I've seen a lot of really good images get looked over and either very, very low bids or nothing at all and the only reason i can see is that it's a newer player. I get really discouraged putting actual images in the auction lately, haha. |

Yes, Olli, but I have tried to buy from newer players before with good work. They find my offers too low and want it to be way higher than I can afford, and since little people notice them. They usually just lose that sale entirely - Also, I disagree about training. I have been having a very difficult time getting customers for training. So it seems all services are difficult at this point.
