With the new year coming, I want to start talking about the improvements we can make this year :). So I want to open a discussion about upgrade perks!

What do you think of the perks we currently have? Are there any you don't like? Anything you would like to see added or changed?

How many upgrades do you have? If you don't have any, what perks would make you want to upgrade? If you do have some, what perks make you want to upgrade? Which ones make you want to have multiple accounts?

And finally, when you do upgrade, do you do it through auctions or directly? What length of time do you usually buy and why?

I honestly enjoy most of the perks Upgraded members get however there are a few I dislike in ways. I would change the fact that we have to go to each account then pay for an upgrade. I think it would be easier if during payment, you could choose what account(s) you want upraded and then pay for them all that way. I currently only have one upgrade myself, BUT, I do appreciate the good prices offered and how an upgrade goes longer for very little money. Though I still think it'd be nice to bulk accounts. 

I love the ability that we can make 5 shows a week, but I dislike the fact you can only make a one a day. I would like it to be so that upgraded members can have up to 10 a week (However only be able to make 2 a day to prevent cheating. Only one private and one public per day), while non-upgrades can make 5 like we have now. I like that we have tixs for purchase, however, the fact that we are unable to refill them is a bit annoying. Especially for people whom are doing project horses/dogs and NEED a lot of tickets. I think that Upgraded members should be able to buy ticket packs with real money (In the same area as Upgrades) so it is more beneficial. Especially since tickets do not give much of an increase unless ALL are used up. 

I think that even though these are small changes, it will have a BIG impact on the game.

• I would love to be able to have an accept all option on private shows.  Kind of like what we have on tickets.
• An option to link accounts to be able to move from one to another quickly and easily

• I currently have 7 but am wanting to have at least 20 by the end of this year.  
• The biggest perk of wanting to upgrade is money flow.  Essentially I would love to be self sufficient where I only have to spend HPD to upgrade and not my RLD.
• 2nd biggest perk is the private shows.  It saves me money not having to buy spots, and I also get to sell my extra spots. ☺

And finally, when you do upgrade, do you do it through auctions or directly? What length of time do you usually buy and why?

• 99.9% of the time I buy my own upgrades.  
• The length of time I always do is 6 months.

I like the perks we have now! off the top of my head, it would be nice if you could have 1 horse and 1 dog speciality on one account. 

I just have 1 upgraded account, and the thing that keeps it upgraded is all the training time I save on it and the shows and the tickets. But mainly the training. I save soooo much time. The thing that would make me upgrade multiple accounts is the training. 

I usually buy through the auctions, and generally I buy a 6 month. Im still the one pushing to have a P.O box option, then I would buy them myself and have them available for others.

  - i like the money.

  - while there are plenty of free stables/kennels on HP, I like having my own to make sure my puppies have feed always.

  - although they're rarely used, i like the upgrade chats. And the advertisement channels, as well.

  - i like the private shows/tickets. private shows and tickets make me want more upgrades.

  - i don't use it a lot for my own animals, but when training for friends (-cough-awd-cough-) enter-all makes me gidddy.

  - i like that breed specialty gets more points.

  - i like owning my assocaiton, and running gaited club last month was also fun.

There's nothing I really /don't/ like perk wise; I can't think of anything else we could really add, either. :P

I agree with tron's 'accept all' idea. Also, it would be awesome for everyone i think if animals were automatically entered into shows once accepted. :)

I have my main account upgraded and a partner account; I'm considering buying another for a spare. the shows/tickets make me want to have multiple accounts, all of the perks make me want to have an upgrade.

I upgrade through auctions. I usually only buy one month upgrades because I'm broke. :P

I love the current perks. Private shows for each dog and horse, the tickets, $400k from the bank weekly..what are other perks I don't know about yet? I love Duckie's suggestion about having 1 horse and 1 dog specialty. That sounds really neat!

I now currently have 4 upgrades. Most of them have been bought from other players using HPD. I really wanted one more upgrade so that I could get my labs started. I really shouldn't have spent the money because we're saving for a car >_>

We already offer dog and horse tickets for sale on each acc, so why not the idea of having 1 horse specialty and 1 dog specialty on the same account....Oh and I wish that the tags were bigger...but that's just an artist's idea :P

I've mostly gone through the auctions but now with the prices so darn high and that the players selling take so long in accepting (wanting to get a higher bid), that many of us may as well spend our own money. I try to save up for upgrades by doing art on here but it seems like I never have enough to upgrade all my accs even after spending ALL my HPD. And I usually try to buy the 1yr or 6 months because I'm a dedicated and loyal player on here! Plus, my friends won't let me quit!

I'd appreciate having both a dog and horse breed speciality - I've been tempted to go into training dogs, but I cant face not having the 'enter all' option for training any more!

Perks of upgrades I especially love: own stable and kennel; tickets; enter all training button.

I do enjoy the perks that come with it. I'm not as inclined to care about both a dog and horse specialty, as I don't breed dogs. xD

I do think that upgrades are very reasonably priced. That said, and semi-piggybacking off of Equ, perhaps there could be a slight discount when(/if you could) upgrade more than one account at a time. Just a thought ^^

-I do like the suggestion of a dog and horse breed specialty. That would allow me to have 2 breeds going on one account and while it would cut down my accounts, I could upgrade for longer intervals.

-I've got 13 accounts at the moment, and the main reason is so that I have a lot of tickets to sell and a lot of private shows to either use on my own animals or sell

-I upgrade directly with USD and currently I only do the 1 month upgrades because it's been easier on my wallet, but I'm about to re-do how I upgrade so I can do one years on all of them

Players can make one public dog show, one public horse show (so that's two shows) a week, then upgraded players also get one of each private show - that's still only four shows a week? and you can make all of them in one day?  I'm confused.

I like the current perks but I believe there could be more. I know there are a whole lot of people against the idea of a "superupgrade", "goldupgrade" kind of deal but I think it'd be pretty cool. I'd pay more to get more perks like massvetting/feeding, a second breed specialty, a second private show a week or something... Someone mentioned the ability to "reserve" tickets to people and be able to save like 3 months worth of sets before selling them in one go in one thread or another... I love that idea.

I have 20 upgrades, I upgrade that many because of the private shows and tickets, along with the enter-all for my extra breeds. I don't vote very often but it's another perk I like.

I do it directly, also sell a whole lot of upgrades. :] Because I have more funds irl than in game, I don't have an income in game except for upgrades.

Sam and I talked about that, Denim, and we came up with the idea of being able to purchase an extra specialty on an account, for a set period of time, for a certain amount of money (or maybe even Cash Shop Points if the cash shop come to be a reality).

The problem in general with an extra specialty is that Sam will lose money on it, unless it costs the same as an upgrade. Because if an upgrade costs 30 dollars/year and you can get 2 specialties on it why pay for 2? That's a big hole in Sam's pocket, which will mean less money to put into imporving the game.

I like the perks we currently have. I dont really use them all, but I like that I can if I want to. I think with the way the game economy is going, would it be unacceptable to do something with tickets? Amount of them? How many points a set is worth? Etc. For a lot of people, tickets are a VERY big part of income and points for projects, etc. I'd like to see more done about this and a notification when they're requested would be AMAZING.

I think I have 3, but I use them for other breed specialties, voting, and tickets, mostly tickets. Tickets make me want to upgrade, especially with a project going. I like the idea of incorporating a super upgrade if we could make it work financially, etc. or maybe just find a way to link them so that if we do upgrade, we have access to the other ones easier? Not really a huge issue logging in and out but its something I've heard said.

I do upgrades for people. I've only done them for myself when Im close to upgrading, thinking of reconsidering and getting to 20 upgrades before the end of the year. I usually do 6 months. A bulk, if not the ONLY income I have is upgrading for other people. With the market the way it Is, I think things have to start changing.

I personally love all the perks we currently have, I had voted in favor of the whole "gold upgrade" thing so I'd still be for something like that being added, but other than that I'm fine with how things are.

I have seven upgrades & the main reason for them is for the enter all button for training. Also for the tix since they're my only means of income other than the bank interest and private shows to use for my own animals ( a friends).

I buy directly and I do it every 6 months since it's easier for me rl money wise.

About Perks we Already Have:

Honestly I like them! I love getting to have the tickets to sell, and I generally use upgrades to generate revenue, althought now it's becoming kind of pointless unless you can get a ton of accounts. Which, is fine, it's deserved for the money spent, but that's just kind of a petty thing.

About My Upgrades:

I have 2 upgrades, only because those are the ones I can sustain on HPD, as a highschool student, money still equals = not very much. xD It has to support my clarinet/band life and that's what eats my money. I usually start buying with money, but I want to continue upgrades through HPD. 

Ideas For New Upgrades:

So I know people have talked about the idea of linking accounts, but maybe, instead of doing that, you could continually upgrade/buy something like upgrade spots for one account? So say you want 10 upgrade spots, this means, you can upgrade 10 spots so you could buy a 6 mo. for one slot, a 1 mo. for another, a year for one so on so forth, get 10 specialties, 10 sets of tickets per month, 10 private shows per week, bank money x10, 10 votes etc... that way you wouldn't have to link accounts, and it could all be one one quick place? Instead of warnings for upgrades expiring, do slots and have it easily acessible through the page? I know this could have a tendency to get really complicated, but I would LOVE if I could have everything on one account so I don't feel like I have to drown in my users and pass words, and then I could have like a single spare/up to 5 spares if I wanted partner accounts, and it would keep the HP account numbers from getting used and forgotten. 

I also LOVE the idea of having a dog perk. Always wanted to start a line of dogs... but never did because i'd have to keep checking on my spare and it just kind of got tedious for me. 

Another really, just, kind of stupid suggestion which honestly is again my laziness, but being able to like purchase a private "direct" chat line, or something that you could find and people could post updates, or you could give it to other players to chat instead of going through an outside source like AIM. This I know is SUPER complicated and with it being too "secretive" would have the mods probably falling over themselves to make sure people weren't inapropro in those chats, but it would be something nice for when HP is rich and famous. xD

I love the upgrade perks! I love the money, the tickets, the private shows... The only improvement I would like to see is the previously (a long time ago, before I up and poofed on everyone) mentioned 'extra perks' that could be purchased for the account. Like maybe double tickets, double privates, double breed specialities. However, I am fine if that don't happen. Since I JUST came back from hiatus, I only have this one upgraded (just purchased the 6month), but I am planning on upgraded my NGSD account again within the next month (and I am buying from another player a one month for that account).

I love the tickets and private shows. I also like the extra money from the bank, although compared to tickets and shows, it doesn't accumulate much. But over a few weeks, with a few different accounts, it does add up. I also like the upgrade members advertisments.

I currently have 12 upraded accounts.

In the past, the money received from tickets and shows has made me want to upgrade, however, lately with so much money coming out of the economy, hardly anyone is buying show spots. On top of that, the price of upgrades (in HPD) has stayed about the same. I will be linking a forum post about the economy. That is a seperate issue.

I normally do 6 month uprades (unless i'm low on cash, i will do a 1 mo). 
I do about 50% throuh the auctions and 50% throuh my own paypal
