How do you guys decide on names for your animals on the game?

I have always named my lines based off of song titles by a particular artist/band.

My current lines are after Halsey songs (one of my favorite artists), Koe Wetzel (another of my favorite artists) and Imagine Dragons (they just have fun song names).

I am always interested in how others decide? Maybe we can bounce ideas off each other to get even more creative?

Most of mine, I use a random name generator, and pick things that I think look cool. They mean absolutely nothing.

My kuvasz on my main, each generation all of the animals start with the next letter of the alphabet (started with A, I'm currently on F!), and since I tend to have a large amount of kuvasz at any given time, it's literally every name I can find, even delving into random cultures.

Random. Books, music, lyrics, episodes, movies... random. X D

I try to use themes that hopefully nobody else is doing, which can be tricky.

I tend to name them after whatever theme I have for the account, I've done Neopets, Songs by Two Steps From Hell (with some Immediate Music and X-Ray Dog), Isles from Horseisle, Horse Colors, Time, Names with the words 'day' or 'night' in them, Japanese Star related names, Final Fantasy Games, Naming after animals originally from HL.

i usually do songs and then when i breed them i chose 2-3 words from the parents to create the foals name 

My main line was mostly biblical themed...till malibu

I have quite a few themes going on xD

- Mexican words.. mainly food and cities!

- I ride a BMX so I have a line named after brands/parts/riders etc.

- Two lines named after characters & collectibles in the old Nintendo games.

- my little pony line (daughter insisted!)

- Colours

- Random names I like xD

I always pick a breed theme and go with it! My paints were named after cities.  I used to breed Ardennes and named them after Shakespeare characters.  My Drum horses were named after battle fought in the U.S.  I just make sure to pick something in the beginning that I could get a lottt of names out of.

I also try to find things no one else is "currently" doing at least haha

just pick random names most of the time

I do mainly music and fandom themes, though my main friesian lines are named after liquor and classic cocktails because I love alcohol lol. Some other themes I have going:

Themes per breeds is the way to go.

Currently doing rodents.

I have lots of ideas, with not a lot of time to follow through. Maybe in the future I'll have more breeds/themes ... but that's not gonna happen right now.

I have used song titles, artists, movies, characters from books and movies, real ponies I know, fictional horses, famous horses, random words I like, Scottish words/phrases, Scottish distilleries

Normally whatever TV show, book, band I'm watching/reading/listening to when I start that line. Some I'm more picky about because I want them to be original, and some I just go with the theme I wanted for them lol

I've used sooo many different name themes over the years, the thing I keep going back to however would be music. My current pair are clearly journey songs as is my partnered mascot entry (out of the other pair lol) music is life!!

When I still had lines I used random name generators,  themes like Greek/Roman gods (some sort of mythology), music/songs I like, book/movie themes. Mostly I just used name generators.

Themes I currently have: Punk songs, Greek and Roman mythology/gods, and Indie songs lol. 

I name them after My Chemical Romance songs. MCRmy Paints. I'm stuck in the 2000's. 

I just started a line named after SKA songs.
