Just curious as to why we dont have the American Paint Horse and Paint Horse, if we have the American Quarter Horse and Quarter Horse? 🤷‍♀️

Maybe because we have Zombie Paints? *shrugs*

I was wondering this the other day. 

I secretly have always wished for pintos but as much as they have a registry they arent a technical breed, but a color. Fancy my old girl was a pinto half spotted saddle horse half qh. Having two qh registries (3 if you count quarter ponies) never made much sense to me but meh it is what it is. 

I wish they would add American Paint Horses as well

Then they could add American Paint Horse Association as a club or something. My mare's full Paint, registered APHA.

Yep. I want this added. We have normal quarter and american quarter horses. We need this!

I personally have always thought we shouldn't have both QH and AQH...

As the person who'd have to do that.......seeing as both have existed since the game opened, we're not combining QH and AQH. That would take me years even if I wanted to do that, which I don't.

Hey guys! 

So, I've been going back and forth on this topic ever since it was first posted. As the person in charge of adding/deleting breeds it's been on my wall for weeks and is a serious point of interest for me. A quick decision was not an option here.  

I've been doing some research on it and technically, ALL Quarter Horses can be registered in the AQHA through their affiliate programs so long as one or both of the parents are registered AQH, making them qualify as AQH's. So technically we should only have AQH or QH, but not both since technically AQH is simply about an Association, not a breed specific. Now, that being said it would take WAY too much time and back log and a LOT of money to try and merge/change all to one or the other with all the breeders we have of them so they're staying the way they are. 

On the flip side - I've also done research on the Paint horse side of things and the same thing can be said about Paint horses. As long as one parent is already registered as an APH/AQH an international horse will qualify for being registered as APH. So again, it's about Association not the breed. 

With that being said. As of right now I will not be adding APH as a Secondary breed. Possibly once we have grown as a site and have more breeders who are actively breeding all breeds here on HP we can consider adding it as a variant of the Paint Horse.
