A few of us have been talking in chat about the training calander. We all agree the idea is good but we are not keen on the layout of it at the moment as when trying to enter shows in some cases as it has reverted to the 19th Jan instead of the 20th, and one person has commented from a mobile it has made it harder to enter.

We were wondering if people would prefer a layout more similar to:

I find it annoying as it is...it feels like it's trying to force us to use it and there's no way to get rid of it.

Mame, I'm not sure how that would be much different than what we have now?

I love it. It's kind of weird but it's made training so much easier for me. Normally i'd struggle to find the motivation to train for one day, but since the calendar was put in i've been training each dog in the week's worth of shows in one day lol.

If there was a way like name said where the calendar is an icon off to the side. So you can choose to either type in the date, or click on the calendar and use it. Rather then clicking where you enter the date and it automatically comes up forcing you to use it. 

I KINDA LIKE THE CALENDAR...I ALWAYS HATED HAVING TO REMEMBER DAYS AND NOW I JUST CLICK ON THEM...I CAN SEE HOW ITS HARDER FOR MOBILES, BUT HP ISNT REALLY DESIGNED FOR THEM YET! BUT I DO LIKE THE IDEA OF HAVING AN OPTION TO DISABLE IT!

I like the idea of the calander. I don't like how it feels like we're forced to use it and I can't use my autofill form data because it will just reset it to the current date which I can't enter shows in anyway because those shows already ran.

I enjoyed the calendar last night when I was pre-entering some horses.  Made it much easier than having to type in dates.

Also, I rarely ever know what day it is...

And, on an also also, having the training calendar a couple weeks ago would have prevented me from entering 40 horses in 2013/01/whatever before I realized I hadnt't entered any of them at all :P

I really like the idea of a calendar, but do not like the way it is right now. 

It would be nice if it didnt pop up when we clicked the date box, but instead had it off to the side or something where we didn't have to use it if we didn't want to.

I haven't had a single problem using the calendar; it makes it so much easier for me to enter.  I don't understand the problem people are having with dates being wrong?  It does start you off on today's date, but a single click is all it takes to select a different day.

I personally love the calendar, it helps me enter public shows as I know what day of the week all my private shows are running and in general is much less confusing than trying to figure out dates.

yeah i used the calendar last night and it cut down my training time by like half at least it was a w e s o m e. 

like aza said, HP wasn't really designed for mobile use..

I absolutely LOVE the calendar and it has really cut down on my training time.  All of my horses in public shows are ALL trained on ALL accounts.  This will be a first for me! haha ☺

I think to make everybody happy there should be an option in accounts to turn it off kind of like how it's set up with dividers.  Would that be easy to change?

I've already suggested something like what Mame did.

What that would do is make it so you click on it to open it. Then if you want to use it, it's there, one click away. If you don't want to use it, it just sits tucked away, and you ignore it. 

Sam said she likes it automatically coming open, so that's the issue there. :P If you talk Sam into it, Uni and I can try it, lol.

super late to this thread, as i just had addy filling me in on it/making me do stuff :p but you'll notice now you have to click on the calendar itself to use it, rather than it opening it automatically, which I think balances both sides of the 'debate'. hopefully everyone likes it as it is now :D
