Ephemira: Back when I was in Texas we would actually have a Cinco De Mayo. We would go out and eat mexican food or make it ourselves and drink beer with family. We would invite neighbors over, friends, family and just have a big party.

As we all know this year also fell on taco Tuesday. Well prior to this my boyfriend decided that he was going to go on a low carb diet and I agreed to do it with him to show emotional support. However, I'm a major taco fan. So not more than two days into the new diet I broke and convinced him to take me to get tacos. Not only did we get tacos for lunch, but we bought extra for dinner too. Great way to break the diet, but we're back at it now and sticking to it until the next holiday gives me an excuse to have some good food! Ephe: When I was in middle school I took Spanish and I remember one year for Cinco de Mayo the teacher made us learn a traditional dance. In class. Partnered with someone of the opposite gender. Oh, man, there was a lot of groaning that day (not to mention blushing). To this day I have no idea what was going on in her head to do that to us.

My grandma volunteered to make the frozen margaritas. She ran inside and left me on the porch with the margaritas while she used the restroom. I tried one of the margaritas, thinking it was just a slushie, and told my grandma they were the worst slushies I ever tasted when she returned lol.
