June's Player of the Month!

I'm sorry about the delay for the big reveal but I wanted to give our Lotto and Forum Post Contest a chance to be seen first!

The Interview Questions!
Anyone who wins P.o.t.M. can answer as many or all of the questions as they feel comfortable answering!

......HP Questions......
1. How did you first learn about us?
I first heard about HP from the old HMF (Horseland Members Forum). Sam had advertised HP on there when HP first opened, and I jumped on while doing summer courses to finish my university degree to keep me sane during class.

2. What is your favorite thing about HP?
I don't have just one favourite...I love meeting so many awesome people from around the world and being able to call them my friends. I love training kick-ass animals. I also love how it allows me to have my own horses and dogs without the RL financial responsibilities!

3. How long have you been playing for?
I like to say the dawn of time, but really, since June 1, 2009!

4. How did you come up with your player name?
I have been blitz since my HL days! Waaaay back (so far back I can't remember when specifically), HL suddenly made "link" a filtered word to stop people from using scripts on its site. I went by blink at the time, so suddenly my name became just "b". I needed something more than that, so picked part of a TB broodmare I'd worked with a few summers previous's name, Blitz Wedding.

5. What is your favorite breed of horse or dog to train?
Appaloosas and Golden Retrievers, but I have a huge soft spot for my Crossbreeds as well, because of pony-Sam!

6. What caused you to pick the breed(s) you train and breed?
I breed so many so I'll keep it short LOL. Appaloosas are my longest-standing breed, having bred them since the day I joined. I chose them because I had admire a group of four Appy breeders back on HL, plus one of my favourite RL horses at the time was an Appy named Xerox. Goldens I breed because of my RL Goldens my family's been lucky to have, Annie, Kenzie, and Piper. Most of my other breeds I've just picked up over time through opportunities presented to me.

8. What are your current goals on HP?
At this moment? Get Samwise as high on the all-time rankings as I can before he retires!

9. Do you have a favorite animal? (It can be your own or another player’s you admire!)
Samwise!

10. Who’s your go-to graphic artist or coder? Are there any services you offer?
My go-to graphics artist is amberellie (and I'm SO glad she's come back!!). Coding, my go-to's are monnie or aramita...I wish I had their creativity and coding knowledge!

11. What is your favorite Site-Wide yearly event?
The Christmas events! I love participating in the 24 Days of Christmas, and driving people insane trying to do my Christmas Word Search! -evil grin-

12. What other contests or activities do you usually participate in?
I try to participate in as many of them as I can...they're a great way for additional boosts of money and points!

13. Do you have any training or breeding tips to share?
Like I said...participate in events! It's a great way to get extra cash, points, etc. to help boost your barn/kennel and isn't affected by energy!

14. Which seasonal layout art is your favorite?
Summer or Dark mode! (Although truth be told, I love them all fairly equally!)

......Real Life & Random Questions......
1. Where are you from?
Ottawa, Canada

2. What do you do for work?
I'm a library technician in two elementary school libraries. I also work one night a week in the library at the local college to get a chance to work with adults for a change.

3. Do you own any horses or dogs?
I have a family dog, a 3 year old Golden Retriever named Piper.

4. Do you have any other types of pets at home?
I have a fuzzy little weirdo cat named Ella!

5. What are your favorite breeds of horse and dog?
Horses: Thoroughbreds, Quarter horses, Appys
Dogs: Goldens, Australian Shepherds

6. Do you have any hobbies? If so, what are they?
In my limited spare time, I like to read, knit, listen to true crime podcasts, and watch hockey and baseball on tv.

7. What’s your favorite color?
Purple!

9. Do you have a favorite vacation spot? If so, what or where is it?
It's nowhere fancy, but my favourite place to go is my grandparents'. They have a really nice, peaceful backyard with a gazebo. I love nothing more than to go visit with them and sit out there listening to the birds and the water from the waterfall in their little pond.

10. Do you have any special talents? If so, what are they?
I can read 70 books in a year.

11. If you could own any breed of horse, what would it be and why?
I'd settle for any horse breed just to own my own horse LOL.

12. If you could own any breed of dog, what would it be and why?
Someday I hope to have my own dog...either a Golden or an Bernese Mountain Dog. I love Goldens and have grown up with them, so it's only natural to go with that. I love the colouring on Berneses and love large dogs!

13. If you could meet any celebrity, who would it be and why?
Young blitz would love to meet the Backstreet Boys.

14. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
I'd love to go to Ireland to track down some of my ancestors!

15. What would be your dream job?
I love what I do, so I'd say I'm already living the dream. If I could add anything to it, I'd love to be an author.

17. What is the top thing on your Bucket List?
Nothing's really on top. I have places I really want to travel to and see (BC, Colorado, Ireland, New Zealand). Bands I really want to see live (Blink 182). Nothing OMG TOP though.

18. What talent do you wish you had?
I wish I was a better rider than I am!

19. What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Chocolate!

20. What is something you fear?
Losing my sight...it would make it very difficult for me to do everything I enjoy.

21. What’s the funniest joke you heard recently?
Somebody jus threw a bottle of omega 3 capsules at me. I only have super fish oil injuries but I'm lucky I wasn't krilled!

23. Any good books or comics that you’ve read recently?
This entire pandemic I've been systematically reading every book Avery Flynn has ever written. Lighthearted, funny romance.

24. Any good movies or shows you’ve seen lately?
Knives Out! Seriously, it's worth it just for Daniel Craig's southern accent!

25. What is your go-to show to stream? (Via Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc.)
I'm currently on a Forensic Files kick...true crime, but they're all old episodes so it's crime from the 70s and 80s mostly. There's a million episodes though so it's going to last me awhile in covid times!
