Shows question

When you use the enter all option, and select "cheapest first"- will it only enter the humane association shows? Sorry if this is a silly question, I know they're the cheapest. Just wondering if it might enter cheap shows ($3000 and less) by other players.

Also another random question. I'm actually thinking Ill be sticking around long enough to make it to generation 2 of my animals! Yay! Curious on when you all breed for backups for both dogs and horses?

Thanks for the help/advice! (:

Personally, I don't breed backups. I'd just delete them because there's almost no market for animals. -shrug-

I use the cheapest option on some of my horses and I feel like I get more points.. but I do not check to see if they are all HA shows.  Now I must find out.

Theoretically, it should def still enter player shows if they're the cheapest entry fee. I'm not sure if it randomizes all the cheapest entry fee shows or if it stops randomizing and enters all the cheapest shows in order by show ID. If it's random, there's still a chance player shows will get entered (if players make their shows with the cheapest entry fee). If it's not random, then it will probably always enter the HA shows unless players made shows weeks in advance (and therefore those player shows would be made before the auto shows).

As for backups, if I breed them, I usually hold off until two weeks before the final breeding date. Final breeding date is one week before the retirement day. So three weeks before the retirement day is backup day. But like Jaya said, backups are kinda iffy on whether or not they sell. I breed backups for my Knabstrupper breed embassy (breeders can claim free backups from me), but not really for anything else except my Prism breeds (and that's mostly just so I can get the best chance at getting good colored foals lol).

I breed at 13 and 15, the first lot being back ups. Purely because I don't want to keep adding stores to my lines, if I breee them twice it gives me more of a chance to be able to pair them up somehow :D

The ones that aren't needed are deleted. Once in a blue moon I might sell a couple but mostly my lines are private. The dogs that aren't needed are deleted :(

I just entered one of my pairs in solid "cheapest first" shows - all the shows ended up being autos. Like Mango said, I've seen non-autos appear before in the show results list but that's only because of players putting them as cheap or cheaper than the auto shows. From experience with entering autos though, it randomizes which ones you enter, they're more of the "luck of the draw".

Mango and Kyuubi basically said what I was going to mention about the shows from my own experience as well. For breeding backups I do mine on the Sunday they turn 13 for Dogs and 18 for Horses then do my final breedings on the Sunday they turn 15 for Dogs and 20 for Horses. :)

/accidentally forgot about this thread/

Thanks so much for your input everyone!! I've been doing a little 'experimenting' with entering shows, and it seems that when using the "Cheapest First" enter all, it doesn't ranomize the shows and enters them in order by show ID like Mango said. So if you enter one horse/dog into a least expensive first, and enter a different horse/dog the same and same day- they will both be entered into the same shows, I would guess it does the same for most expensive first (:

I've just started a few testers to play around with different show entering options to see what gives the most possible points. I have a dog that I enter exclusively into HA shows (pretty good results so far!), a dog I enter exclusively into most expensive first using enter all (soon to start with 2 new dogs entering HA shows for one, and the other 5000 shows but doing it manually so I know it's totally randomized). One I manually enter entering into most recent shows running for that day, one I manually enter into oldest shows for that day, and two more for random enter all; and random enter plus all club shows. It's a bit all over the place right now but with the next generation I'm planning to get more into depth with it. It might seem silly, but I like playing around with it... and it's interesting for me lol :D

I would be very very interested to hear these results :D I'm trying to put together a bunch of training information for my help site, which at the moment just has some little tools/calculators lol.
