Which Association?

I currently run the
Designers' Arena
by myself. That includes animal registry, sending out messages to keep the association active, advertising, organizing, budgeting, and updating information on the layout including contests, updates, and player information. I started classes a few weeks ago and I would love some help.

What would I do?

Here is a list of things that are expected for you to get an idea
(this is not a complete list. we will split duties 50/50)

1. go through the pending animal registry
2. send out messages to keep the association active
3. advertise in the advertising channels (or help find ways to advertise better)
4. budget association money
5. updating information on the layout including contests, updates, and player information
6. contribute to new ideas for the association

How do I apply?

If you are interested in this position please either reply to this thread or send me a message with the following information

1. Do you have any experience running an association? If so, which one?
2. Would you consider yourself an organized person?
3. Why do you think you are a good match?
4. Do you have any 'visions' of where to take this association? If so would you mind sharing?
5. 3 references *these WILL be verified*

Just The Directory.

2. Would you consider yourself an organized person?
Pretty much.

3. Why do you think you are a good match?
I have been working with graphics for over thirteen years now, everything from photomanips to pixel art, photography to typography.  I love looking at art, from old and new artists alike.  I do have a full-time job and a toddler running around the house when I'm home, but I generally take the laptop to work and have plenty of time for updating, accepting pendings registrations, etc.

4. Do you have any 'visions' of where to take this association? If so would you mind sharing?
Yes!  As I mentioned in Chat, I'd like to see the association offer "formal" critiques for those interested.  Spots as "judges" could be raffled off on a 3-month basis, so it would be random and rotating.  People interested in a critique would submit via form, so we could be sure to get all the information needed to give a thorough and helpful critique.

I think "classes" could also be fun.  Volunteer artists could offer tutorial sessions for specifics elements of design, such as background blending or airbrushing.  They could be done as a combination of Join.Me to see how the artists works, and then with participants submitting their own attempts for review.

Yes ma'am, the Performance Dogs Association.

2. Would you consider yourself an organized person?

Yes, very much so. My OCD is through the roof.

3. Why do you think you are a good match?

I've been doing graphics for a couple years but have been looking and learning for 6 years. I do school at home and am on almost all day everyday so I'm active on the game and can see what the people like/want/need and hop right on it.

4. Do you have any 'visions' of where to take this association? If so would you mind sharing?

Just a few :) Mainly just people really using the services the association offers. Wether its graphics, layouts, contests, etc. Just people using it and knowing what there is to offer.

I do not, but I would love and opptunity to try!

2. Would you consider yourself an organized person?

I am a very well orginized person if I don't say so myself.

3. Why do you think you are a good match?

I think I would be a good match because I am active in the association and I come from a buyer perspective not from another graphics makers perspective.

4. Do you have any 'visions' of where to take this association? If so would you mind sharing?

I would love to see this association grow and become a major part of this game. It would be nice to keep it up to date with the grapics artists, and make it affilated with other graphics related associations. Plus it would be nice to have contest where the artists and the buyers can interact together.

Hello there my dear, I'm here to apply for your partner search.  The following will be my application, hope you enjoy!

Do you have any experience running an association?  If so, which one?

Before my break from HP, I was the owner of the Roleplayer's Assocation.  I had the association for about a year, but due to taking a very sudden break from HP due to personal reasons, it went to inactivity.  I miss having an assocation.  The enjoyment of a club without the competition related to running for president.  Speaking of president, I have been president of the Pony Club for the past two months and absoltely adore it.

Would you consider yourself an organized person?

Yes I would! Currently, I am working a full time job, attending college full time, and am actively training two horses.  No matter, I still find some time for HP and am on at least four times a day to check up on things.  At the beginning of each week I make a list of everything I need to do, just so I don't accidetnally forgot anything important.  Lists are my best friend.  I like to keep things just so, that way nothing gets misplaced or forgotten.

Why do you think you are a good match?

I am an extremely friendly person, and love the premise behind the designer's arena.  I personally make graphics, layouts, and offer coding.  I also tend to obsess over the graphic auctions.  I love the idea that there is a place where you can go to find players who are offering customs.  I've admittadely gone to the designer's arena to look for customs before.  It's a one stop shop!  I would really like to get into an association again and would especially like to share that experience with someone else.  Two heads are better than one after all.

Do you have any 'visions' of where to take this association?

I would like to see this assocition become every players first thought when considering buying a custom.  I'd also like to see more contests related to customs.  Perhaps a series of contests.  First a 'suggest a theme contest.'  Then we'd pick a two or three themes and have players create graphics related to those themes.  The top graphics from each theme will be chosen and then raffled off.  That way you get the full circle effect, from buyer to creater, and back to buyer.  I'd also like to see something like a featured 'graphic artist of the month' or something like that.  And of course there would have to be other fun contest for those out there who don't make graphics.  I'll have to admit this leprechaun hunt you have going on now is crazy addictive.  I've found nine so far, the other three are extremely ellusive.

Three references:

Mystery Player Number 1059

Ikaria Player Number 27540

Tilted Scene Player Number 21104

Appalachia Player Number 1842

They're all very nice people, and can vouge that I'm not a total loon

Thank you for the opprotunity and the consideration!  Good luck on your decision, I know that either way, the Designer Assoction will proper, and tha's really what's important.  Have a lovely day!

AWD.

You made me.

Loveses you.

1. Do you have any experience running an association? If so, which one?

No I do not.

But I have run clubs multiple times.

So I've got that going for me?

I don't have a lot of experience on HP associations, but I have run many contests, and I have contributed to clubs quite a bit, to be honest.

2. Would you consider yourself an organized person?

Excuse me whilst I introduce you to my alphabetically organized Blu-Ray set.

Yes, I'm highly organized.

I won't give specific details unless you ask.

3. Why do you think you are a good match?

Because I am a wonderful person.

Seriously speaking, I am both a consumer and seller of graphics here on HP, and I have been part of the game long enough to know many of those involved.  Additionally, as an ex-moderator, I'm familiar enough with the rules and good enough at being subtle that I can help those who need help without being rude or cruel.

Add in the fact that my real life job is in the art and design industry, and well, that makes me well rounded, now doesn't it?

4. Do you have any 'visions' of where to take this association? If so would you mind sharing?

I see it continuing under your primary care, with me in the background to aid and abet...waitasec.  Seriously speaking, I like that it's a place to go to see who offers what, and a price range.  I like that it provides a service, and neither of these facets do I want to change.

However creating more traffic within the club is needed - discount prices are a good thing, of course!

Simple things like small prize, easy contests are my specialty.

It'd be cool, though, to have a plan to bring in more members - And I'm willing to enslave me own graphics abilities to bring people in with raffles, etc.  We could also offer tutorials to budding designers - not make them, but a tab with links to them.   That sort of thing, so that it services the buyers and the sellers, and also helps out new designers.

...I suck at these things, AWD!
