Was in the middle of coding and got an HTTP 500 error. When HP came back online, the player pages now look like this: https://imgur.com/a/IDizsXo

Sorry...I was sleeping!

In an ongoing effort to keep HP and its players safe, we've done something new with basic and new accounts. I'm planning on making a news post about it and a few other things in the next 24 hours...just need to iron out one or two more things...bare with us!

ok i was shocked at first but this is still an issue with basic account that you can't code on them anymore.

is this a new perm feature that you have to upgrade to be able to put a pretty code on your page then thats sad HP but if just a bug on basic pages then please fix asap.

Aoi, you can find the info you see on the FAQ page, and as well on this forum topic (which is a direct copy of the news about this!): https://horsephenomena.com/viewpost.php?id=175715

Hey all!

Help please!

I updated my "Mini-updates" box at 2 AM on 11/20/2020. I simply added a line of text and a link to a screenshot of the ranking's list. I used the a href code as I always do. Everything worked well.

Then, at 10 PM on 11/20/2020, I attempted to do the same thing. This time, the results were terribly different. All previous links and URL's have been Deleted! This is 2 years of history that are now gone forever. :(

Additionally, everything below my post in all 6 scroll boxes has become a hyperlink (underlined and changes size/color when you hover over it with your mouse).

Finally, the bottom right scroll box on my page had links to all my other accounts. These have been deleted too.

I went over the code I entered, and there is nothing different that I can find. I closed all brackets, included a < / a > on everything. And even if a bracket was the source of the error, this doesn't explain why all the URL's have been deleted.

Someone please help me!

Thanks so much!

It looks like there was definitely something wrong with the link, if not with the brackets then possibly with the quotation marks. WIth the purifier, if you mess up even one bit of a tag, it'll "correct" it and change all the following text to match, which is why everything that comes after that link is now a hyperlink as well. It's possible that any existing links were deleted during this process.

From what I see, your updates look fine - did you manage to restore them somehow? That's the only part that doesn't make sense to me. The rest of the code is doing exactly like I would expect it to when correcting a tag (where everything is suddenly turned into a link). As for fixing it, if you don't have a backup of the code (perhaps under your Pre-HTML Purifier link?), then you'd have to manually go through and delete all the links.

You can use this text-replace website to help there.
1. Paste your entire code into the top box.
2. In the Find Text box, paste this: < a href="http://prntscr.com/vn6i7a"> (minus the space after the opening bracket) and leave the Replace With box empty. It should remove all the < a> tags that link to that screenshot.
3. Then copy all the text in the bottom Output box and paste it back in the top box.
4. Change the Find Text to < /a> (minus the space after the opening bracket). It'll remove all the end tags.
5. Then copy the text in the bottom Output box and you can put it back into your HTML on your page.

Since the purifier already changed/deleted all your original links, you'd have to go back afterwards and add those back in.

I know it sucks, I've done this a couple times and ended up just restarting the whole thing because it's such a pain to fix >.< Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks so much!

I went back to look when I had time to calm down.

Noted that the same link was copied literally everywhere. When I started deleting them, it all got fixed.

Just stinks that I lost 2 years of history....without any way to recover it. :(

Thanks again! :)
