Hi everyone! I thought I would turn here because I'm sure someone has fostered before lol, but we are getting our first foster in this weekend! He is a 3 year old treeing walking coonhound named Hank. He is getting neurtered in Lexington on Thursday, resting for a few days, then making his way to us in Cleveland on Saturday or Sunday. When he was seen by the vet today they said he has happy tail and needs part of his tail amputated. This is where I need some help! How long does he need downtime after getting neutered? Any tips on keeping him comfortable/calm after neutering and tail amputation? I'll take any advice you guys can offer! If you've fostered before, I'll take general tips on fostering too! We do have another dog in the home, our 40 lbs hound mix, Winston. Thanks guys! I'll hopefully get pictures posted as soon as I recieve some less blurry ones! |

If you can find a onesie in his size, itll reduce the risk of infection from licking! |

Good idea, thank you! Our dog had a rash in that area that he liked to lick so we tied athletic shorts around him lol. |

We understand! Fosters usually come underweight and unhealthy :) |
