beta fish question

Something weird is going on with the vase I keep my beta fish in. It's starting to produce like a film above the water for some reason. It didn't always used to do that though. I've been breaking it up when I can. I'm wondering what you guys think might be happening? And do you think he can still breathe even with the thin film? Because I'm not always able to break up the film... :(

What do you mean by film? Is it a bunch of bubbles (because that could be a bubble nest) or something else? D: That sounds weird.. For starters, I would clean his tank with a bleach solution (10% bleach to 90% water) and let it soak for at least 30 minutes. Bleach kills pretty much everything but you have to make sure you get it all out! Or it will also kill your fish, haha. |

i was also gonna ask if its a bunch of bubbles?! or maybe you are feeding too much and its all the build up of the excess food? mine does that if i feed too much too often |

I have had the same thing. its not bubbles either. if the water is standing it will have a film. even koolaid and pop has it as well. the fish can still breath. if it helps though you can get a air stone filter to keep the water flowing |

yeah, that's pretty much it Bear. It does look like it's starting to get some bubbles now too. But anyways, it's good that he can still breathe, lol. |
