As a mascot I want to see photos of any of your pets but it has to be the FIRST photo you took of them. How did you meet them? I will show you my first photo here but you don't get to hear my story until later - what I will tell you is I met my mum before this but she didn't take any photos. This was my first day at my new home. |

So this is my well talked about potato Taco, the first picture I ever took of him!
It was a year since our last rottweiler passed away... hubby and I had talked about getting another but at that time, we felt we still weren't quite ready to bring someone new into our home. That didn't stop me browsing rottweiler puppy ads... "window shopping" I called it. One day, I came across a newly posted ad advertising 4 rottweilers and I couldn't resist. I messaged the breeder and she got back to me saying I was first to message and that we could have first pick. Ofc, finding out a bit about us as prospective puppy owners. My hubby wasn't initially happy as we said we would waited however, agreed we would go and have a look. From the get go, we were set on getting the only female of the litter. When we arrived at the house, we walked up the stairs and opened the gate and their were four adorable little potatos running about. We walked over to them and three ran the opposite direction, not interested in interacting with us. The lady stated the female was also included in this little group. Then the one remaining little puppy, looked us straight in the eyes and then flopped onto his back and on my feet as if to say "omg rub my tummyyyyyyyyy". This was Taco. He wouldn't leave us alone after this. Trying to eat my shoe laces, climbing in my lap once I sat down. Chasing the kids and demanding more tummy rubs. I'm a full believer he chose us and he has honestly been the best dog since < 3 |

Kaya Marie after I first brought her home! The joke was that my parents wouldn't let me get any more cats, so I went and got a dog instead. xD and turns out she really has more of an "aloof cat" personality than most of my cats do haha. EDIT: missed the part about the story - I had been wanting a husky for a while since my lab had passed away a few years prior, and before her we had a husky named Tina. I found an ad in the Minneapolis Star Tribune for puppies and was specifically looking for a red husky. I didn't meet the parents cuz I met the breeder halfway, and I figured she was husky enough for me. xD (I have no doubt at this point that she is a full Siberian Husky. She's way too small to have any Mal in her lol!) |

I grew up with my parents breeding and training German Shepherds for schutzhund. Eventually over the years my parents stopped, other things happened, and we no longer had shepherds of our own. I always new I would get one of my own but it just had to be the right time and the right dog. I was living in Oklahoma working at a cutting horse facility when my moms best friend called and told me someone she and my mom new had just had a litter of really really nice GSDs. Since she never gave my a high school or collge graduation present she would help me pay for this one if I wanted to reserve one. I said I wanted a male and there were only 2 born so I was gauranteed one of them. Over the weeks she slowly told me about the two of them and showed me pictures of the bloodlines, etc. As he was finally reaching 8 weeks and they would fly him to me (they were in Oregan) she said. One will be a crypt organ while the other one wont. The one that wont is the pick of the litter by far but he will come with limited registration (aka I cannot register any offspring if i were to breed him). I said I want him. He flew to Ft. Worth, TX and I drove down from work to go get him. This photo is when I pulled him out of the crate for the first time at a rest area near the airport. It was love at first site. He is literally my other half. I could have never picked a better dog for myself in a million years. He is absolutely perfection. he turns 5 years old in two days. ps... I actually named him MIRCO as my moms firt german shepherd she had imported from Germany when she was in her early 20s she named Mirco. I grew up hearing such amazing stories about him from everyone I wanted to name mine the same. |

Pants - Kaya Marie is adorable and so fluffy. I love that pic. I wonder if I could try that on Rob? You said no more dogs but nothing about a cat xD That's super that the breeder met you halfway and you got the pup you wanted. Tragedy - |
