So Danny was at work today, and he said he'd pick up dinner after work (he was expecting to finish at 5.30pm), which was awesome, because i'd spent all day re-arranging the living room and cleaning and I really wasn't in the mood to cook.

At a bit after 4pm I checked our online banking to see how much was in there and it said a $75 purchase was made at the pet store at 4.01pm. Danny recently got me a Cockatiel (well, he allowed me to enter a pet store and I walked out with a bird, it's basically the same thing lmao) and I mentioned that I wanted some millet because it's irresistible to Cockatiels and it would help me train Odie.

So he came home and I was all curious as to what he bought. He walked in the door with a huge bag of millet and a small animal transport box.... He handed it to me and smiled. I peeked inside and there sat this beautiful little whiteface cinnamon pearl Cockatiel.

OH EM GEE. I have wanted one of these for YEARS. Like this is my dream mutation. But i've never been able to find one around here and the only breeders I knew where interstate and i've never really been able to justify animal shipping fees for a bird.

I am so happy I could die.

I don't have any pictures yet because the lighting was awful and I wanted to let him/her settle in a little before I go all stalker with a camera. So i'll get some photos tomorrow.

I don't know if it's a male or female yet, but i've been meaning to send some samples from my conure out for DNA gender testing, so i'm going to send off samples from Bandit and the new 'tiel tomorrow.

I REALLY hope it's a female. Partially because he/she and Odie (my other tiel) have already hit it off and I could get some pretty spunky babies out of them. But mostly because when males of the pearl mutation molt out their feathers, they lose their pearls. Females keep their pearls when they molt. Which is a real bummer because they're SO pretty and i'd hate to lose them.

I will know by the end of next week!

haha, word of advice, don't get a sun or a sunday conure, they are the most noisiest things ever, she is never content unless she is out of her cage, and even then she still screams lol.

Yeah I wouldn't get a sun/sunday/nanday. I know people that have them and I don't know how they live with the noise LOL. My green cheek can be pretty loud when he wants to be but he's got nothing on those guys. I'll probably go for another green cheek. I wouldn't mind a pineapple, they're so pretty

haha, if we ever get another conure, it would be a turquoise, this was our Max: http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs44/i/2009/077/6/1/look_A_T_me_by_XTheSkittlesX.jpg

its kind of funny because our Grey talks...a lot. and whever Sunday starts acting up, she'll go to the side of her cage next to Sunday and go " Shhhh!! youre being noisy!" and if she doesn't stop, she'll go "Sun! Be Quiet!" haha.
