Mental Health Mondays

So, it's not a shock to anyone that I am passionate about Mental Health. If it is, Hi - I'm Saturnia and I have a huge passion for Mental Health and Mental Health Awareness! Through out this past year,  I have been racking my brain of ways that I can help whether that be just making a safe space for people to chat each month or just hanging out in chat on occassions or just having my DM's always open. I try my best to make myself available for each of you - the players of HP- so that you know that you aren't alone and that your feelings are valid! I started the Monthly Mental Health Check-In ( found here : https://horsephenomena.com/forum.php?cat=51) , but I realized that not everyone feels comfortable publicly posting their feelings or their grievances and stress. Having anonmity makes it easier to open up about how you are truly doing. So, I created my google form - an anonymous space to just let it all out and vent (found here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdzfQIXJufNmxEBRZes4l1nj4zWJPt22WsBhL8jPisAjg7qGA/viewform?usp=sf_link). 

In doing this, I have had a lot of brave souls open up and share about what they are going through right now and I realized that HP needs more. You need more support and I feel that I owe it to each of you to do my absolute best in providing that support! 

 
 

So - I've decided to start Mental Health Mondays! Once or twice a month - I will post a thread here in the forums that discusses a mental health topic that will include resources, tips/tricks for coping, and just some general education on it as well. Then in the forums, we can have an open discussion OR if you feel more comfortable, you can hit my messages or even post in the google form (I'm going to add a section specifically for commenting about a MHM post). 

I think one of the biggest things to take away from this is that you are not alone. It may feel like it - but I promise, you are not. I am ALWAYS here for each and everyone of y'all and I will go to the ends of the Earth to help you cause I love y'all! So, if you haven't heard it today : 
 I am proud of you! You are doing a good job! Even if all you did today was get up and make yourself a meal - I am proud of you and I love you. 
You are each valid, valued, and loved. You matter and you are important. You are not a failure despite what your brain is trying to tell you.

Things that I am grateful for : 
1. My friends that I have made on and off of this game 
2. My wife and our dogs 
3. The support that I have from the mods/admin team to be able to bring a part of something that I am passionate about to this game ♥

In my personal circumstances.. something to do with panic attacks would be helpful. How to cope during/to overcome...

I am grateful for my family. Even though I feel alone sometimes and I am going through the most stressful time of my life, I know I have family members who would do anything to keep me afloat.


I think anixety/tips on getting through a panic attack would be helpful as well.

I'm gratful for HP as I can't get out much due to a bad back and hip problem, HP keeps me sane and entertained

3. Sounds like speaking on anxiety and panic attacks is the main interest - so I will most definitely do that this coming monday!

I am grateful for the life experiences i've had and the people who've helped along the way to make it all happen for me. 

I know you said that you'd update with ways to help cope with anxiety and mental health. I definitely think a discussion about mindfulness techniques or activities would be great.
