Hello there! I'm Elias, but you can all just call me Eli. 24, he/him, Leo Sun - Libra Moon - Scorpio Rising, 4w5, animal lover and casual artist among many other things... that's the kind of stuff people say about themselves in introductions, right? I suppose given the site's theme, people probably would be interested in knowing about pets as well; I currently share my home with 2 lazy cats, 3 loving rats, 14 adorable snakes of various species, and 25 - yes, twenty-five - amazing tarantulas, also of various species (I understand if people here are afraid of snakes/spiders and will keep any talk of them to a minimum, but please refrain from any "kill it with fire" comments - these are still my beloved pets, pls and thx!) I have also kept several other animals in the past, including two horses that at the time I was unfortunately not ready for. Hopefully the third time will be the charm, but until then I can have as many as I'd like on here, yeah? c;

I found this website a few days ago after having a late night bout of nostalgia about Horseland and as a result discovering that the site had met its end in 2019. As someone who'd wasted countless hours on HL both pre and post the Great Change of '08, I was pretty bummed and wondered if there had been anything that'd come up to take its place - a bit of digging on Google seemed to say this is the hot new place to be for the old HL peeps. I'm slowly but surely bumbling through figuring out the layout of the website, and want to make an effort to be active on here. Hopefully I'll make some friends along the way!

Weirdly enough for someone who's terrified of house spiders, I'm apparently totally fine with handling tarantulas? So I promise there'll be no 'kill it with fire' comments. :)

As someone who's only been back on HP for a month, I feel like HP takes the best elements of HL without the added nonsense! (And yes, you're allowed as many ponies as your heart desires, though sadly they have to stay put on the screen)

Aaaah, thank you all so much for such a warm welcome! You're all too kind. I'll definitely look into perhaps doing a thread posting pictures of some of my many-legged and non-legged kiddos, still haven't quite figured out how to post images yet but I have a ton that I can share (with appropriate warnings just in case some people aren't as cool about them as you all seem to be)!

I've absolutely noticed that HP has some very similar core elements to what HL had, though my memory can be a little hazy. The point system for animals is unique to HP, yeah? I think that's super cool, since it gives you incentive to put some time into specific animals to get achievements and such. Funny how something as silly as little numbers next to a digital horse's name can feel rewarding, lmao!

My husband looks at the mice whenever we go into the pet store, and says he wants one. I don't understand it. We already had mice we were trying to get rid of. Why bring more in on purpose? haha I guess it's a guy thing?
